TWS Futures rollover volume curse is back

Huge order of 5700 contracts crossed the tape on the er at 1:30 but it didn't budge the market at all. I was wondering what the heck.

    A Question Regarding ButtonTrader

Yes, there is a max daily loss in risk management. It will close any position if the predetermined loss is reached.

    Black Week (Mar 5 - 9)

What's the rationale for using Nov 2004 as a low?

    Black Week (Mar 5 - 9)

Some technical levels from SP high of 1464. 50% fib retracement from June low to Feb highs: 1360 61.8% fib retracement: 1334 10% correction: 1317 There will be a lot of strong technical buying based on these levels. I'm partial to a number in the higher range.

    Black Week (Mar 5 - 9)

Excuse the language, but no f*cking way. Tech bubble bought down a lot of quality companies last time. Market rising since the bubble has been based on solid fundamentals.

    Black Week (Mar 5 - 9)

Technically, the sp charts don't show any support at these levels. 1400 should have been held if bullish sentiments were still alive. But lower than 10%, with current fundamental outlook, doesn't seem realistic. There was a double bottom last July. This time, we could lose some more...

    Black Week (Mar 5 - 9)

Last Jun/July correction, Dow lost 9% and SP lost 8%. If you figure similar drops, Dow would go to 11686 and SP to 1346. Friday close had Dow at 12114 and SP at 1387. I think at most a 10% correction and then it's time for some buying.

TWS hiccups in fast market. (JAVA ISSUE!!)

Besides dumping any features in IB, I also reduced the number of charts I had running in QT. Slight freezes at times but not like 3-4 minutes like Tuesday.

TWS hiccups in fast market. (JAVA ISSUE!!)

IB must have done something. No freeze ups yet. I'll sending test orders and cancelling and it's very fast.

    Some observations on scalping Crude

Huh, not sure how you're coming up with only 50 cents. CL has been, rough estimate, good for about $2 move on most days. It equates to a 20 pt range on the er. Now if the er had that type of range on a daily basis, I would never leave.

    Some observations on scalping Crude

NYMEX and CME agreed to host CL electronically on Globex last Nov/Dec. The liquidity is quite good which equates to tight spreads. IB is a top option shop, hard for me to believe they wouldn't have it. Electronic is the future. Pit volume has been shrinking versus the globex volume.

    Some observations on scalping Crude

I've been watching CL crude. Really like the day range, seem like there are a lot of good opportunities. The fact that it trades $10 ticks like the er is another plus. When people talk about 2:1 or 3:1 risk reward, it's actually possible with crude on a daily basis unlike the er or es...

TWS hiccups in fast market. (JAVA ISSUE!!)

No way. 1.6 is way faster than 1.5. Something else must be up.

TWS hiccups in fast market. (JAVA ISSUE!!)

I went into features and turned everything off that I didn't need. I would delete some pages but I don't want to have to recreate them later. Entering and canceling order seems faster but it may just be because volume has gone down.

TWS hiccups in fast market. (JAVA ISSUE!!)

IB freezing when I was short. Cost me money. Difficult to trade in these conditions.

this is not over guys--more downside

I was IMing my trading buddy. We had a running bet to see when the TRIN would go HIGHER than the VIX. Talk about wild ride today. So who took the counter trend when the TRIN went over 2?

I agree about the newsletter. I only subscribe to the free one. But I look forward to it every night. If I didn't already pay for a squawk service, I would consider paying for john's newsletter. His explanation are clear and concise.
