Kamala wants a 0.2% transaction tax

If that came to pass, I would essentially not be able to make a living anymore given the number of transactions I do each day. It would be time to move abroad and live off my savings.

What percentage of your net worth do you trade?

Currently about 75% of liquid net worth. This includes unlevered stock positions + notional values of levered instruments. I keep it mostly market neutral these days to keep it relaxed.

Tested investment strategy in paper version. Expect same results in live?

Depends on a couple of factors. Are you using limit or market orders to enter? If limits then your fill rates could be quite different in actual trading. Also are your stocks large cap or something illiquid/HTB? That will obviously have an effect.

They haven't been delivering alpha (as a whole) for the past 15 years. But the charlatans are quite alive and well. Pedigree and prestige of the fund managers are what matter to institutional investors such as pension funds, a distant second is alpha.

Are you mostly Daytrading vs Swingtrading now?

These days about 95% of my money is traded intraday. That's mainly a function of the zero commissions and a new set of possibilities that have opened up.

The founder betting it all on Apple and Wells Fargo

LOL Apple is steadily losing market share to Android worldwide and their flagship iphone 11 was a stillbirth. It is inferior in hardware+OS with double the price compared to the Android majors. Their latest marketing hook is one year free access to their exclusive flop entertainment that nobody...

MOC orders being dropped today at IBKR

My MOC's have always worked at IB. This is a first. Hate to keep comparing to other brokers but IB customer service is horrific. They charge commissions and have the nerve to keep customers on hold for hours after their software glitches. Fidelity/Schwab are zero commission and a human is...

MOC orders being dropped today at IBKR

So instead of MOC orders to close my positions I did Market orders with execution time set to 4pm EST. It never executed. TWS says 'order is being held and monitored'. And now I am on endless hold on the phone waiting to figure out what's going on. This is a bit of an annoyance as I did not...

    Bye bye IB, hello Schwab

I also moved most of my money from IBKR to both Schwab and Fidelity. I still leave a tiny amount at IBKR for my futures strategies and very slow moving stock strategies (like once a month trading).

Anyone else hit the burnout point with trading?

I've been at this more than a couple of decades now and the trading is more busy than ever (after those darn brokers went zero commission!). It starts at 7:30 am (EST) and ends at 4pm. Then there is an additional 3 hrs of work from 10pm to 1am after the data downloads come in. I've developed...
