the start of the new BULL ???

Mr. Vulture, I agree totally. I try not to 'predict', but I've noticed over the years that the Monday following expiration is almost always opposite the Thur/FRi direction. Usually the buying (or selling) power is used up going into the expiration, causing a reversal on the next Monday...

Joe Schitt the ragmans trading journal:

This is too funny! LOL! But does it seem to be a bit 'dark' in here? (could it be???)

    The English Patient

I admit I didn't see it. No big loss for me! :) But since we're posting on ET, I've just got to mention that "Trading Places" with Eddie Murphy, Dan Akroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis is one of my all time favorites!! A Classic! A Must see!! Great lines: "You make no friends in the pits and...

the start of the new BULL ???

Just by asking the question 'start of the new bull?' tells me we're not done on the downside yet ... :)

    IB: Yes or No??

I've been with IB for over 18 months. I trade every day, and I've had only one lost connection incident that affected my trading, where I had to get out using the telephone helpdesk. In all honesty I've made more errors myself while entering orders (hit BUY instead of SELL hotkey while...

    How wide a stoploss?

I became profitable once I STOPPED using stops to 'protect' me. (Hope I don't jinx myself! ) If it's going against you (and you can usually 'know' or feel that it's a loser), then just get out as best as possible. You don't need a stop to take you out -- get yourself out! and quick...

    Tell about your education

I know it's not about Trading per se, but if you want to read some interesting correlations (non!) between making money and education levels, check out the 'Millionaire Mind' by Thomas Stanley. Here's the link on Amazon...

    going short

I prefer shorting because the price falls much faster than it rises. (or maybe actually due to some kind of internal strange short bias??). Price reacts to the downside faster probably due to how people will scale into a position, but then 'sell all!!" to exit quickly.

    eminidaytrading ?

I strongly agree on the efficiency aspect. With the deep liquidity now, you get a double edged sword: -- when the market 'sticks' at a level (oscillating within a 2-3 tick range), you have more opportunity to enter/exit at 'your' price, but... -- the increased amount of orders...

    Mechanical Trading versus Discretionary Trading...Opinions?

Backtesting is extremely useful to help you determine what does NOT work. It also helps you condition your thought processes in a structured methodical manner, and a much needed part of doing the work you need to do to learn your markets. And also I don't believe that it will provide you with...

    eminidaytrading ?

The biggest change I've noticed in NQ is how 'thick' it has become. Size on the bid and ask has increased noticeably over the past few months as the total daily number of contracts has increased. The patterns on the 1 min charts look more and more like ES has been for a longer time -- and...

Agree with all ... ET offers some pretty slick functionality, and has been incredibly reliable. And the content ain't half bad either! :)

    Favorite Indicators Anyone?

The best indicator? -- always watch THE PRICE! :) Seriously, you're wasting your time if you're wondering if 3 is better than 4 better than 5, etc., etc. Look at a short term chart, and try to determine where it might go to hurt the most people -- and undoubtedly that's where it may end...

    Back to Trading...

But if you enter with all and scale out with partials, then what happens when you're wrong? You get hit for the 'all' on the incorrect trades, and limit yourself on the correct trades. FWIW, I subscribe to the 'all or none' school -- for both entry and exit. - 3dog

    Teresa Lo

Agreed -- she is very good. I've watched her for several years and she has an excellent ability to see price patterns for what they are, with very little bias and great clarity. Highly recommended. and no, I am NOT associated with her operation ... just giving credit where credit is due.

    profit targets

I don't know about others, but the last thing I consider when evaluating 'how I did' is what my percentage profit was for a month. What matters is bottom line dollars -- net, after commissions. Using leverage (and futures, for me), a % return is meaningless.

    March Trading Journals

Congrats on another positive day -- your trend is definitely up! Question on your 'shooting' stats: When you get out 'flat' (i.e., entry price = exit price), do you count those as wins or losses? Psychologically many times flats are definitely 'wins', even though you actually have a...
