Real Estates Black Hole Miami Condos 2008 To 2010

Another thing to consider: We're talking condos in South Florida. I own two homes in Boca Raton, and if I had to sell I could do it with a haircut but not a fire sale, to mix metaphors. Condos have other risks besides price; think of the underlying financials of some of these buildings...

Yes where did it go? Was it libelous? Inaccurate?

CC w/ leap surrogate, what happens at assignment

You would be assigned 100 shares of QQQQ short for every contract you sold that would up ITM. (You don't own the stock, so it can't be called away from you at the strike price. Instead you get short stock at the strike price.)

CC w/ leap surrogate, what happens at assignment

If the short call is ITM just before expiration, you can buy it back, have it called away from you, which may leave you with a short stock position in your account. Or you could early exercise your leap, hold the stock and let that get called away, or you could sell your leap, presumably at a...

    Ansbacher's new system

Christ, spending all day covering short futures and buying them back hardly sounds like an option writing strategy. One overnight gap up and .... I wonder why Max abandoned his previously successful (albeit naked risk or mostly naked) strategies for what sounds more like futures or sort of...

    Ansbacher's new system

Max is now just selling puts and hedgeing with short futures (on SP and ZN or their floor equivalents). Will someone explain to me how the guy protects himself rom upside surges consideirng he is short futures?

Multi-account and broker Portfolio Tracking software?

Have two IB accounts, three Fidelity, on TIAA-Cref, trade options, futures, stiocks, bonds. Any program out there take downloads from all these brokers and sort out the overall asset allocation, net long/short, etc. Not neccessarily looking for return as much as allocation. And do hedgies mix...

    Anyone do conversions anymore?

Yeah that's been the case for a while, but I thought maybe PM might make those rare small conversions rewarding. Nickle here, a dime there ....

    Anyone do conversions anymore?

If so, does it only make sense with Portfolio Margin, rather than Reg-T, and anyone know of any scanning service/software that picks up conversions (and reversals)?

    NZD: Globex and other questions

Apologies fror a currency futures question here, but there is no currency futures forum and financial futures doesn't really respond much to currency futures questions: Anyway: The Kiwi. I am in Sydney. Forex trading starts in Wellington, right? I would imagine at 8 a.m. (or 6 a.m. Sydney time.)...

NZD/USD ... just got my head handed to me

Yes, humility is required when you win; I made some money yesterday -- but it wasn't like I broke the bank; it retraced the previous days trade and a little extra. I've been doing this long enough to know you win some, you lose some. (But try to keep the wins bigger than the losses.) At the end...

    Time clock software

Did I miss something on that link? It just shows time zones -- no market opening or closes. There are tons of time zone sites, widgets and whatnot. But I can't find a comprehensive one that focuses just on world financial markets. Like say it is 12:45 P.M. in Sydney now, I would also see that...

    Time clock software

Is there any software out there that does the following: Allows you to set a clock to the local time and then gives you a list of what time it is in all other financial markets -- all being the key here -- around the world and whether they are open or not and when they will close.

NZD/USD ... just got my head handed to me

The Kiwi is usually lumped with the Loonie and the Aussie as a commodity currency. But, frankly, I see where the Aussie and the Loonie and getting their strength. Simply put -- these counties are mining pits for the developing world. It's a trade balance story. End of story. But the Kiwi? The...

Besides dairy, lamb, a little wool, does NZ export anything of note, except its dollars, of course?

NZD/USD ... just got my head handed to me

American in Sydney here, frequently over on the North I. And, man, the bankers I know in Auckland and Wellington are all talking about getting short. I know no one advising a long NZD/USD position right now. Do you?

NZD/USD ... just got my head handed to me

Here's Rule 4 and -- especially -- Rule 5 4. The trend is your friend. 5. Until it ends. (Ask anyone who bought QQQQs in March of 2000 or even six months earlier.)

NZD/USD ... just got my head handed to me

I'm one for three in trading the Kiwi, I took a hit yesterday after going short around 75.29. But I figured this was a long term position for me and unless the kiwi goes into the 80s, I'm going to hold and possibly even double down at some point, depending on cash available. The RBNZ is telling...

What are the best Mac-based trading systems

Ditto. Mac versus Windows is like comparing a Porsche to a Pinto. (Wasn't this way always, I'll admit; the turnaround started about four or five years ago when a lot of the earlier cross-platform issues were worked out.) I use IB's Java applet, so my Mac works well with my trading. (I'm not so...
