Is $5,000 enough to get started with trading?

Is $5,000 enough to get started with trading?

$5K can buy you a lot of misery if you can't cover a $25K cash call.... remember... Osama is still out there and if you get stuck with some positions that gap down 30% after a "geopolitcal event", you know the rest............

Is $5,000 enough to get started with trading?

$5000 is close enough to zero that the fall won't be so bad. the only way to make a small fortune in the futures market is to start with a large one.

    Laying on the Bullshit

can't see the reasoning here.... SUNW, LU, MSFT and JDSU lost a combined 700 billion dollars in market cap. (give or take) peak to trough. by comparison, Enron is a crack in the sidewalk..... Martha doesn't even make the round-off error. certainly there're jail cells open for all the...

Any recommendation for low-price discount commodity brokerage?

I owe some of that to the notion that the entire futures trading system is about as neanderthal as it comes. a bunch of 30 somethings with gravely voices at a pig calling contest. I try to stay away from pit traded anything.... understanding that there are many entrenched interests to...

Any recommendation for low-price discount commodity brokerage?

gold, silver, bonds and options of futures... I don't tick trade much since the less I trade, the more I seem to make. Xpresstrade screens are kinda clunky, but since I'm not worried about 0.0000001 moves, they work for me. I've heard good stuff about e-cry.

Any recommendation for low-price discount commodity brokerage?

XPRESSTRADE is good...they have a trading desk open 24 hrs during the week so that if you botch an entry, they can help you out.

    Gold and Silver mini

puzzling is the reaction of gold and silver today........... I thought the bursting credit bubble would support the stuff, but not so. maybe the world will boil down to a $50 trillion money market fund making 0.0000001% return.

why mess with one minute before. the front runners were positioned today.

    Today's BONDS!

understand that it's relative rates that make a currrency go. central banks around the world are already rasing rates and Dr. Greenshoes is just talking. Alan needs to stop drinking the bong water and crank'em 50 points.

    Today's BONDS!

I think Dr. Alan Greenjeans has been into the mushrooms. He obviously doesn't buy his own gasoline or health insurance. 1% Fed funds at a time when cost of living is going up 5-10%. reminds me of Brazil a few years ago.

Buffet warns of problem in the next 10 years

btw, anyone can reasonably assume that the insurance companies he owns are up to their neck in derivatives. how do they lay off risk otherwise?
