    Announcing TradeStation 7.2

They have a demo version on their website with some sample code. It isn't DDE. You basically specify in your TS code where in a spreadsheet you want a particular value put. And it does it. I use it to take a range of values from my current chart, put it in an Excel spreadsheet, then I...

    Announcing TradeStation 7.2

    Sorry, I meant 2004 - but they don't say when in 2004.

    Announcing TradeStation 7.2

They've put it on hold - expected sometime in 2005. I had to buy the TS Link DLL to get this functionality. You have to shell out an extra $135 to get Excel functionality when it comes for free in eSignal.

    Intraday Backtesting

Hi John, TradeStation is the market leader and the 'standard' backtesting package. It depends on which instruments you are interested in but I believe they hold over 10 years of 1 min data for US stocks and futures and 30 days of tick data. It costs between $100 and $200 per month (+...

    Intraday Backtesting

TradeStation or WealthLab are the best for backtesting (I use TradeStation, never used WealthLab but lots of people rave about it on these boards). eSignal can't backtest for peanuts so don't even bother with it.

    Buying Trading Systems ?

From what I read on FuturesTruth the results they post are from real time trades (so their results don't come from backtesting) and although they let you change the code they don't let you change the trades that occured in the past i.e. you can't just change your code to make your past look...

    Buying Trading Systems ?

I've never traded these systems or with these companies, but I thought you might want to look at www.futurestruth.com. They do independent tests of these systems over a number of years. You can get any information about systems from them.

    Newbie Tradestation Questions

Hi Hypostomus, My apologies also to Adamoptions for hijacking the thread. 1. Data eSignal currently only has 60 days of intra-day data, though they plan to increase this to 100 days in the next release and two years eventually. However, this two years will be in two years time when they...

    Newbie Tradestation Questions

'fraid I have to totally disagree about eSignal being good for backtesting. It has a great backtesting language but the data just isn't there. I believe they currently only have about 100 days of intraday data, their time-zone management is terrible (so if, like me, you're in Europe you can't...

    Trading the Open (DAX)

You can try looking at the site of one of the UK spreadbetting companies. They trade the markets 24 hours so will have a view on the open before it does. Try http://www.uk.cmcplc.com/spreadbet/index.asp - it's called 'GERMAN30 Cash'. Crude, but may help.

    bets

spreadbetting is a particular form of trading that only exists in the UK. it is illegal elsewhere in Europe, and the spreadbetting companies will only let you open an account if you can prove residence in the UK. don't let the word 'betting' fool you - it is 'almost' the same as exchange...
