Dont sleep on a 50% retrace from 2003 lows... a bounce was a guarantee. Whether it becomes "the bottom" remains to be seen but it certainly has potential. gov't bailout just happened to coincide nicely... they plan these things, dont you know? Did you see the "FED wants GS and JPM to loan...

Leverage... one of the reasons we trade ES versus the SPY. SSO requires me to commit half as much capital. My stop is too big to trade ES. Doesn't mean its a bad trade, it still meets my criteria as the reward is still much larger than the risk... I'm trying to bottom pick hard here. I'm...

Long SSO @ 52.11, stop at 49.70. Equivalent to long ES 1185, stop at ~1160, but I'm not a baller who can take 25 points against him on ES :p Interesting - http://quantifiableedges.blogspot.com/2008/03/how-market-might-react-to-fed.html

:D I'm glad someone notices. That was actually SPX I was referring to (see chart) aswell, so transfer the 2.5 points premium and you got 1173.25 low made overnight.... within a point of the 50% retrace.... magic We'll see what happens from here. They've got their line in the sand. Theres...

I have 1170-1175 as a strong support zone. If they're going to try and turn this market soon it'll be there IMO. It has basic technical significance that even the most fundamental fund manager could see (50% retrace from 2003 lows, plus multiple hi/lo's over the past decade), smaller timeframe...

The ES did decline about 7 points to within a point of its lows in about 15-min after I posted that. I'm not sure what you meant about a reasonable trade? Have you ever had a position on when a major surprise announcement was made in the middle of the night? I have not, but I'd imagine that...

I want to get short right here with a small stop to try and ride this back to the lows, but I'm honestly too scared because of the havoc a "PPT" announcement can cause... its just not worth it when volume is thin and a 20 handle spike can happen in seconds.

Tomorrow is going to be interesting, thats for sure. Anyway, I got some good dialogue going with a couple posters when I posted up my last stock swing/position trade here (APP) so here goes another for anyone thats interested. PPC... I am new to this stock, but looking over the chart I've...

From 8/10/08 Profits taken at target #1 yesterday (1/4 position). Looking to get rid of the next quarter at ~$13... then $16, then holding a runner. Stop at a little above $7. Despite the index condition, I also just got long PPC at $13.21. Stop just under $11. Target in the...

Missed my target by a point while I was sleeping... exiting here at 1770. I'm going to keep the 3AM reversal in mind from now on when trading overnights and going to make sure I exit by then.

Both ES and NQ tagged some significant support levels an hour ago. We'll see if that will be enough to get the AH "wander higher" PA that seems to happen after viscous sell-off days. It would go pretty well with what Vertigo is saying about the gap-up. Also some divergence on the lower...

Anyone that got long at the open today (right into heavy resistance) when it was blue skies and sunny got their asses handed to them, thats for sure. These same traders are probably going to be the ones positioning short right now when things look down-right ugly. Not saying we tear-up from...

1299-1303... very nice zone. If you're a believer that we're done with this bear market bounce, this is a great place to get short with a small stop. Market could definitely keep going higher (1320-1330) but this zone is too nice to pass up to look for huge potential downside with a stop of a...
