Sure if you have good entries ym is good. But with random entries 50% cost is huge. And it´s very hard to find entries that will work over and over for a mechanical system.

Tell me if i am wrong.. IB charge $2.40 for 1 YM contract as well as one s&p mini contract? 1 YM point means $5 profit - $2.40? 1 s&p means $50 - $2.40? How come it´s 10 times more expensive to trade YM and therefore 10 times harder? It makes systematic trading impossible.

Search for a simulator first. Then build a strategy and your confidence. Trading futures is a competition. I would never join a marathon competition if i had just learned to crawl.

Seems like it would have worked during the time i checked manually at least. But there are a few 10/11 point potential winners that become losers. The Problem with 100% mechanical. And this works best in an uptrend of course.

Is it necessary to get drunk to trade good? Even if a software handles the trades automatically? No good excuse :) Well i have noticed it myself. I did better trading when i was relaxed and not worried so much about what would happen.
