    Brokerage for aggressive automatic scalping

I just did a broker search using 100forexbrokers tool. Although my search criteria was not tight, i got small number of brokers and mostly were shitty ones. http://www.100forexbrokers.com/fx/broker_results.php I only selected the regulated currenex brokers. It gives me some that...

StarDust9182 Registered: May 2011 Posts: 282 05-04-12 04:47 PM Beyond HFT there is another even worse scenario I have been troubled thinking about for a few years now. HFT is not really a significant threat to traders in my view. It simply toughens the game. Let's for this...

My understanding is Retail + Millisecond ---> C# or Java Institutional + microsecond -----> C++ fair enough

    OpenQuant strategy coding

I can not seek the perfect .. If i do, this will 1- Delay me from getting into the game. 2- Make the learning curve brutally high for me. Regarding my specific situation, i believe i have to make compromises but the valid question is to which degree?

    OpenQuant strategy coding

AFL is a powerful concise language indeed. But very few are depending on it for live trading. Only for backtesting and optimizing. It is one of the least priority on list. It would be another plus for me to be able to play with it one day. But to be realistic, i have to focus on one thing at a time.

    OpenQuant strategy coding

My goal is to play at the edge of retail in terms of execution speed. This is where my system will be at minimum risk. I care about risk more than profit. :) Hopefully LMAX + OpenQuant can get me there. Till now i think so.

Agree. To balance between " waiting to get everything optimal" or " get in quicker with an acceptable arsenal of tools" is crucial. That is why i decided to : 1- not learn C++. I know C++ is more powerful but it will be nearly impossible for someone like me to learn it enough to get the benefit...

    OpenQuant strategy coding

I have read the same regarding their bad support after sale and also regrading their relatively dead community. This is too bad. However, still i would like to continue with OQ because of many plus including their event-driven architecture. It will be awesome to deploy my automated strategy. I...

    OpenQuant strategy coding

Thanks AmazingIndustry. I really did not want to change Java but i found OQ which could be connected to any broker including LMAX. So, this combination " OQ and LMAX" is more solid for me. I was learning java because i did choose Dukascopy broker before and they have Jforex in java. However...

    OpenQuant strategy coding

Great... Thanks.. Actually, i like OQ because it is not chart-oriented. All is for automation. This is what i am after. So i think OQ suits my requirements more. Is what i will code in Nscript could work on OQ? Or i have to do some modification? I will shift this week from learning...

Hi, I am planning to use OpenQuant for live trading. Also, i have just started learning programming. It is a steeping learning curve for me but i have a commitment to continue this road. The problem i am facing is there is no much documentation, sample strategy and tutorials to learn coding...
