US dollar vs the gold it could be backed with

I'm not attacking anyone, Vlad, when I say, categorically, that socializm is enslaving and is against the natural law. Nothing personal, my good man (person). So long. *** It has been a while, but I seem to recall that Adam Smith describes the advantage of having a money supply that is...

We want the $$ to fall and bond yields to rise, DOW 15000!!!

Am I misunderstanding you, or were you born in 1990? My first mortgage was at 10% fixed, and that was a pretty fair deal for a first time homebuyer in 1987. If I recall correctly, we were in the middle of an all-out boom. Guess perspective plays a major part in valuation after all.

I'm sorry to interject, but I can't pass this one up: Yes, socializm does indeed "rule," like a master rules a slave. Socializm, Grasshopper, is slavery.

    Drawn to complexity?

I do think simpler is better, and more complexity doesn't necessarily add value. However, when I looked around and saw 10 legal pads and several cell phones, I decided I'd better do the PDA thing, just to have it all in one place. :p

    Al Quaeda buys gold stocks

if the markets don't tip the hands of the players involved, then a whole lot of traders who have made a whole lot of money over a whole lot of years have been just plain lucky. And the odds certainly don't favor that hypothesis. It's axiomatic that positions are revealed in market activity...

Elliot Wave Calls the Top... Again

I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist but that's an interesting point. However, bullets didn't keep the market from bottoming last fall; in fact, they didn't keep the market from making all time highs in 2000.
