Any downside to using hidden stop orders?

A stop itself isn't broadcast to the market participants, it's handled by the exchange until it's triggerd. At most it would trigger a limit order (if it's a stop limit) with a hidden *total* quantity but some kind of display quantity size is still needed. After the display quantity is consumed...

Trading Forex in the US after new Dodd-frank rule

IMO you're much better off trading with currency futures than these things. FX moves all the time and those instruments are US ETF type instruments which mean you cannot do a damn thing during the Asian and London sessions for the most part.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Thought the last ATH was 2490.87 on 8/8/17 (SPX)? We're still not above that.

    Karen at court

They're not going to sit there and hyper-focus on the literal words of the agreement without regard for intent and completely ignore the obvious fraud going on. She violated good faith. From a word to word parsing the PPM already laid it out there that fees were per realized profits. It even...

    Karen at court

I can't believe we're even arguing over whether Karen *significantly* did anything wrong or whether it's protected by the contract. Look it's clearly not even remotely in the spirit of what people would sign up for as a client to the fund, it's clearly playing games to continue collecting fees...

    Karen at court

Pretty sure it is about performance when the fees are tied to it. Cmon guys we've been over this already. If you're fucking around with realized and non realized losses to keep the fees accumulating you're thieving your clients.

Karen the Supertrader - TastyTrade Hybrid Experiment

Gotcha, I hear what you're saying but it's not about the returns that are the issue. It's about the asymmetric risk being taken on to get those returns and how the takeaway to others might be that that is a sound or safe strategy.

Karen the Supertrader - TastyTrade Hybrid Experiment

Hey look, an hour ago, 20 pt gap down in ES futures, GC busted out of range, Yen soaring, all on NK missile launch through JP airspace. And people want to be short vol now w/ VIX at lows too?

Karen the Supertrader - TastyTrade Hybrid Experiment

I think the problem here is that people have warned him over and over that the risk/reward is bad - and even more bad at VIX11. Right now I'd much rather be taking the Artemis approach and targeting a vol event that'll pay for all the continual losses rather than the other way around.

Iron Condor - Credit received when trade initiated vs. profit received when option expires

Kind of a misnomer to say "initial credit received" being that it's entirely tied up in margin on the position. It's potential credit received more like.

    Classic Template

Isn't the only difference basically the presence of the sidebar or not? I do think the sidebar is visually annoying when trying to actually read a thread to be honest. It reduces focus.

When did IB institute this 100k minimum to earn interest

It's 100k min for *short position generated cash*. The normal cash sitting around doing nothing gets interest on anything beyond 10k. And yes I do agree it's lame there are any minimums period.

^ decent thread on this. Also there's that whole VIX manipulation speculation going around this year as well: https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-05-24/vix-trading-hoaxes-and-blockchain
