Thank you again for the input. Being a full-time trader is something that I plan to work toward, but right now I lack the equity, knowledge and expereience to pursue that. I am working to make that a reality sooner rather than later. Also, I play enough online poker that I consider it my second...

See, right now I tend to be gravitated towards Chicago and New York, towards the action, but if that falls through, getting any kind of experience at a brokerage house would be an option. After the internship at Morgan Stanley, did you continue within personal finance, or did you choose a...

First, Thank you for the input. I am sure I will have multiple Plan B's, but this is definitely a viable option that I have conisdered in the past and will continue to consider in the future. I actually live near Troy, MI, which is a pretty wealthy area and is home to a countless advising...

    magic journal of doom

Case 2 could be a very accurate statement if the coal sector can't post expected earnings. I could see this sector even having a larger pullback, losing most of its ridiculous gains. the 20s for JRCC is not an unrealistic target. I have been looking at ICO as a positive opportunity as well...

    swing-day trading US stocks

Absolutely great thread. Besides the returns, your winning percentage on trades is ridiculous. Keep up the good work, I enjoy following this.

Yes, I currently have about 3 grand in securities. Because of the low volume, commission eats me alive, leading me to only own a couple positions at a time. I would like to trade at a higher volume, but college tuition costs/living expenses wipe my bank accounts by the end of each year.

    Internships and Alternatives

Real quick background: I am 19 years old, and I am a finance junior at Michigan State University. The past two summers I have held two essentially non-finance related internships. However, for summer 09 I am committed to landing an internship/employment opportunity at an i-bank. Now, I...

    Analyzation, valuing ...

This is extremely subjective, and the years need to be updated, but this just goes to show you how evaluating companies is more of an art than anything else.

What is your view on JRCC from ths point forward? The large pullback was not due to any demand complications, and coal sector analysts see continued industry growth. Any opinions?

    A trading message from Gates

Although the coal sector took a substantial hit last week, the fundamentals behind the coal industry remain intact... i.e. heavily increasing demand... potential as a alternative energy source as oil hits all-tiem highs...etc...

Fannie and Freddie down 50% in morning trade?!

40% and 48%, respectively. I think I can hear them gasping for air. What are the odds that a government bailout lifejacket will be thrown shortly.?

My high school summer job: trading the NQ

Don't let those first couple days get ya down, you are still ahead of the pack. I am 19 and enjoy watching your trading mindset/thought-process. Right now, I am trading equities based on S/R breakouts and patterns. For me, setting and keeping stops is the hardest part. Just be dedicated to...
