    Poll: automated trading

Almost everything is automated... because when daytrading over a time slot the last trade may potentially remain open for too long beyond the time limit, hence any remaining trade can be closed out manually.

British Government Asks for EU Delay Amid Johnson Resistance

If a delay is granted by the EU so that the UK does not leave on 31st, then I expect there will a general election soon after, resulting in Boris being kicked out, a new referendum and Article 50 revoked. Its in the EU interests for that to happen so it will be interesting to see how the EU...

    Advice

Hilarious! Do you not realise how ridiculous you sound. And this dellusional statement: "Because I am a genius I was able to teach myself trading and develop the system." A child can learn to trade and setup a system, in fact brokers rely on simpletons like yourself to do just that, its how...

    Advice

Obviously you aren't a genius, despite what you think otherwise you'd not be seeking advice here. If you truly have an extraordinary system but poor discipline (aka self-sabotage) - then the answer is to automate - fire and forget - let the system play out, keep out of the way and don't...

A message to some day traders.

Human nature doesn't change, which is the reason why history tends to repeat itself. Therefore look to the past to determine how the future might evolve, and bet on the likely outcome. Don't bet too much though, in order to stay in the game.

Need somewhere to think out loud,

Surely by now the realisation must have occurred to you that there is no optimal set of parameters for your moving averages and ranges, and therefore there is no point continuing to continue tweaking them, and instead to focus on what price is doing.

Need somewhere to think out loud,

Your method seems to involve using a slow ema to gauge price direction, and a faster ema from which to derive two envelopes, with long entry when price crosses up through the high of the inner envelope and a long target at the high of outer envelope, and exit if price crosses below low of inner...

100k or Blowout - My First Discretionary Day Trading System

Because algos don't always work, even when backtesting shows good performance, although losses will be contained so disipline isn't an issue The human brain is more flexible than algos and can see opportunities and failures that are hard to code, but the difficulty for the human mind is...

    over 90% win rate

It should be clear to anyone with experience that what maxinger is referring to is that a high win rate doesn't necessarily equate with good trading performance. Winning $1 for 99% of all trades and losing $100 on the other 1% is a failed trader despite having a high win rate.

    The secret of daytrading

I doubt that you have seen such a statement highlighted above. For daytrading, what you are referring to and stating incorrectly, is the need to limit the amount of loss to an account that can occur should a trade fail, which is not the same as the amount of an account in use for a trade.

    The secret of daytrading

No, prediction doesn't come into it at all, its about anticipating what might happen, and being ready to act.

how would you play this? breakout / pullback / other?

The large final bar suggests a price decay is most likely, so wait until price begins to fall and then short. All that crap other than the chart is distracting.

Trading couple for 3 years are harassed by UBS Bahamas, your help will bring victory

Personally, I couldn't care less about your self inflicted plight. You should take responsibilty for your own actions and stop whining on a public forum.

Trading couple for 3 years are harassed by UBS Bahamas, your help will bring victory

I was convinced that Xela and Nodoji were one and the same person due to a strong similarity in style and especially the praise of Al Brooks. A post I did in Nov 2017 stating that opinion was deleted by the mods after protests by Xela. The fact the two IDs had different IP addresses means...

Does anyone want to publish their holy grail for intraday?

Getting the trading method developed and applying it with discipline in just one aspect. The key thing is to determine which instrument to trade, and when and for how long.

Technical Indicator to stay out of choppy range

An indicator isn't required, instead a change of perspective is needed to avoid the erroneous presumption in the question. Its better to pick an instrument and a trading time interval of the day when price is more likely to move significantly than be stuck in chop.

Fan in workstation Making loud noise

If that was mine then with the system running I'd put my finger on each fan in turn to momentarily stop it spinning so as to identify which one was generating the noise. Having found the defective fan then replace it if a new one can be obtained. Alternatively remove the fan and dismantle it and...
