I couldn't imagine the emotions of going from no trading experience to throwing on 9 contracts. He might have had an aphexcoil type seize up, and is too embarrassed to talk about it. He seemed too disciplined though to mess things up too badly.

They are probably assuming you have no other income and are using your standard deduction plus personal exemptions? Otherwise nothings tax free unless you have 100% basis in it.

Update: Today was an example of not following my system completely due to lack of guts. I was supposed to stay long from 888.25, but took profits near the 20 point range at 896.75. Not following the system gave me a good opportunity to reenter, which I did on the scalp, but in the long run...

I flip when S/R is broken, so I'm in the market pretty much all day. But I only average 2.2 trades per day, so I usually flip at the pivot for the day, or after a big run up or down that breaks recently created s/r.

That's my only problem is following it. I'm hoping this journal will help me do that better. I'll be posting what my system did and what I did at the end of each day.
