The commission does exist, but my post is not to promote firms or start a commission debate. Let me rephrase the question - for a firm that self clears and is doing major volume - say, over 60 million shares a day - does anyone have an intelligent guess as to how many cents a share the firms...

And that .004 cents a charge is the total charge - no additional ecn fees --

I know some of the large prop firms out there are charging as low as .004 cents a share for high volume scalpers -- NYSE and Nasdaq ---- these firms self clear -- my questions is for the biggest firms out there that are able to charge .004 --- how much do you think their cost is ?

How can anyone compare commissions when you are only talking about NYSE ? Tell us your charge for Nasdaq ?

I am confused about NYSE DIRECT - if within a prop firm - 10 traders use nyse direct for the same stock within the same five minutes - isn't this not allowed - since a prop firm is viewed as one account ?

I agree with your comments Gene -- how is NYSE direct ??? and how are you able to track its use - I thought the 1099 shares was limited to the whole firm -- so if one person in the firm enters an order on nyse direct for 1000 shares -- a second person in that same firm could not use an NYSE...

until all the ecn's leave the best bid or offer - there is no fill - period - this is a big disadvantage - Supermontage, which will be rolled out in a couple of months - will send the order to the ecns if they are best bid or offer -
