It depends on your strategy. if you have say a 90% probability of a successful trade, a 1:1.5 win ratio and an account of say £100k most would be willing to risk the c £14k per trade need to make £20k. Many people on ET make £20k a day and more. Read the P/L Journal thread. I saw...

As far as Porph and Blackjack go they do not risk 2%. Porph, I believe is still risking uptp 5% a trade despite his trading account. Back to oil....I do not see any set-ups. I have a EURO short idea. Trigger 12750. If it breaks this level it may continue its down trend following the...

Why are you choking up blood?? Nothing so far for me today. Was considering a short set-up but the 40 level seems to be attracting lots of buyers.

This Spanish bashing is getting old. Yes he is cocky bastard sometimes but I think most of us were at his age. I would also remind you 'trolling' other posters is a banable offense.

Did not make any trades. Range was too thin and volatile. Terrible trading conditions for swing trading.

I think Spanish is just a bit jealous after his bad month. If he is referring to me, well I called my ZB short a day or so before it broke and that was the lion share of my gains last month, Some of my occasional EURO shorts were also called at or soon after they were opened. I...

As interesting as Spanish's personal life is, what is everyones thoughts on trading today? It looks like it could be another poor day for intra-day swing trader like me. The range seems narrow again and the same problem yersturday looks prevelant again; that is we are at the bottom of the...

My Dow short worked out. It has broken quickly to the bottom of its range so I doubt there will be any further substantial moves today.

I would like to see it close above the 4205 level - it just reversed quite hard of resistance. On a side note, I have clawed back some of my losses on a DJIA short. still down £500 today though.

Thanks - the only positive is I followed my system and did not get emotional; so took the losses quite well. I was thinking of doubling my position size starting today - glad I didn't!

Thats me out of oil for now. This price level is too choppy. Will wait for it to move to a new S/R level before reentering. One of the worst consecutive runs ever recorded using this system. Down £850 for the day.

I wouldn't bother. I think I am going to abandon oil for now if this does not work out. I believe the problem to be the fact the price is at the bottom of its range so there are people buying at this level but there is genuine bearish pressures pushing the price lower. Hence the whipsaws...

Long again from 41.00. Third time lucky. Where is everyone today?

Second loss. So far today -£600. There is still a bearish tone today. The down waves are longer and stronger than the up waves but it looks like it is getting over extended to the downside. Can't see any particularly attractive set-ups developing soon.

I am long here from 40.70 but volume on the upticks is terrible. Looks like it could be a choppy day. Already shaken out of a short for a £300 loss.

Price just peeked below several support areas and did not like what it saw. Pretty strong bullish signal considering the DOW is selling off hard. Will look to go long soon.

We now have a bearish bias.

I don't see a bias either way. We have to break 43.50 to get bullish and 40.50 to get bearish in my opinion and, at the moment, we are ranged bound between these levels. I have today off work - so will be trading all day. Good times.

Well no trades for me today other than closing my EURO/USD short earlier. Up circa £1400 for the week and circa £8400 for the month. Most was due to my ZB short and a combination of EURO shorts. Only about 2k from oil which is disappointing. I review my system and back test it at...

I wouldn't hold up too much hope to be honest. There will be many experinced now unemployed traders and investment bankers with experience in trading looking for the same positions. I also believe most prop firms require you to put some capital down like £10 k or something.
