Stronger growth rates under Democratic administrations

Agreed, but if you are implying that the democrats haven't been liars or opportunistic lately, you are out of your mind.

govt bail out of fannie mae and this monday...SP tanks or soars?

You need to get the facts straight. Most democrats supported the war as well by voting for it. They then campaign against it as if they weren't responsible, a true "double-standard lie". There is less of a difference between dems and reps than you think. Are you saying if we didn't...

govt bail out of fannie mae and this monday...SP tanks or soars?

We are screwed no matter who gets elected. If your argument is against bigger government, I wouldn't exactly think the democrats would be much better, as all federal unions are supporting them this november... heres another article from the same objective site you quoted...

U.S. Plans to Seize Fannie and Freddie

They should confiscate some of these CEO bonuses and use them to fund another tax rebate. Not that I'm for the redistribution of wealth, but if you're partially responsible for this mess you definitely don't deserve shit to begin with

    Fannie & Freddie Back-Stopped!

http://www.forbes.com/personalfinance/forbes/2008/0915/154.html This one has great timing.. printed only a few days ago "For tax-deferred accounts, I'd take a big breath and double down, buying more at the current low prices. Risks include the housing market getting even worse and...

    The Four Horsemen

Link please? Articles related to the GAO study in 2005 you may find are BS; the bulk of the "2/3" are small companies who aren't paying corporate taxes because they are passing the income through to the shareholder level (S-corp). They are paying taxes with a 1040 instead of 1120, so not...

America vs. a 16 year old teenager

So which is it? Mind of her own or follows the crowd? The thread title made me think this was going to be about some new kind of "reality" show coming up in the fall, instead its just a Canadian bitching about the US again.:D

Student loan market looks like a mess

I hate to say it but I would love for this company to be in even more serious trouble. Many private schools are not even worth going to anymore based on their ridiculous tuitions and job prospects for grads. Its really hard to say with unemployment though. Many companies try to cut costs by...

Are naked puts really this safe????

But call options are cheaper to begin with. If you sell call options you will sell them for a lower price than an equal-OTM put option. Therefore you can still get killed on a sharp move up, even with volatility dropping. Selling calls in a downtrend can be painful if a bear market rally...

Anyone here pass Level I of the CFA Exam?

The questions were easier but the curve was tougher and passage rate was lower, so overall I wouldn't say the exam was easier to pass (Level I anyway)

How do I get rid of all these anti-virus pop-ups?

Its a pain but its probably faster than the alternative: formatting the drive and reinstalling EVERYTHING (If you don't have a recent image). Also, I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but turn windows system restore off so this garbage doesn't ever come back again later.
