    Anyone else long QID?

Any idea why the naz is showing such resilience? Thought it was AAPL, but that wasn't the problem yesterday. D

    Anyone else long QID?

I've been quietly riding this down for the past few days, trying to figure out whether to cash out or stay in for the longer haul. I'm incredibly bearish on this market but I'm worried about a sudden oil-driven rally. Any thoughts are, always, appreciated. DH

ASYS CFO Buys in during 15% sell-off

Landis - think you posted at the same time as me. I just use the SEC site and browse recent filings. claro? DH

ASYS CFO Buys in during 15% sell-off

Oh, and thanks for the reassurance on the stock Stoney - it's always nice to hear a second opinion. DH

ASYS CFO Buys in during 15% sell-off

Sure it's not much. On the other hand, it was a big selloff, so that's enough for me to conclude that a decent bottom is in. Re the SEC filings: don't have real time, but I do look through the new listings now and again to see if anything interesting has been filed. DH

ASYS CFO Buys in during 15% sell-off

Amtech Systems (ASYS) reported yesterday evening and missed, with inventory backlogs. Sales and revenue were up strongly though. There was a sell-off all day, during which the CFO bought 2000 shares. SEC filing here...

Kenneth Cole (KCP): Bloodbath in the making

Sorry if this is getting tedious. On the other hand, if you'd followed my advice at the open today, you could have made a 16% profit. Anyhow, I ran the numbers: in essence, the stock went from estimated earnings for the year of $0.55 to - optimistically - $0.37. Actually, there's...

Kenneth Cole (KCP): Bloodbath in the making

KCP just reported. A disastrous forecast. The analysts on the call didn't seem to believe them when they said they'll pull out of this in the second half. Ask AH is 17.50 - 5% off the close. http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/080506/nytu1... "The Company noted that the soft wholesale business...

Well that was an unhealthy reaction

Those making that bet treated us to a full dose of propaganda yesterday: commodities sell-off, massive downward $ momentum. Made it difficult to hold my position. DH

    Pressure on Europe

Well, it looks like we're down nicely, 3-4% in the first few minutes. With trading on the US futures halted, the desire to close out US position will remain frustrated all day long, forcing people to close out European positions instead. The $ bumped up for a second there, but it seems to...

    Pressure on Europe

I can't help thinking but that there'll be fairly heavy downward pressure on the European markets today. The fact that Monday was MLK Day only aggravates the situation. If there had been a day's trading between yesterday's sell-off and today's European opening, there would be a chance that...

    Help! I'm short!

Thanks to you all, I really appreciate your comments. I didn't quite understand the stuff quoted at the bottom. Am I wrong in thinking that you suppose a rally? The more I look at your remarks and think about it, the more obvious it is that the question hinges on just how low tomorrow's...

    Help! I'm short!

This is a genuine question to you more experienced traders. Today was a normal trading day in Canada. So I went down to my local TD branch and deposited some cash to short the hell out of SLF (a mid-size Can insurance company). It was only down 2% of Friday's close. My question...
