    Yen carry trade

You can't hedge the currency risk. A future is in effect a forward spot deal and so the price reflects the interest differential. ie that is why the future is never the same price as a spot deal unless the interest rates of the 2 currencies are identical.

    Prop Shops in Europe?

On a related theme- still looking for a good one in Chicago for remote access if anyone has any ideas. I would stress I don't want to be backed - have my own capital but want to be able to locate a model in Chicago and trade spot fx and futures on the ecbot and cme off it . Thanks

    FXCM Response to FXCM/PropFX Rating

I wasnt comparing the prop fx price to the interbank market or spread. Say for example Barclays is one of the banks streaming prices into your propfx platform and they stream in say 21/22 in the euro. Is that the price you show and if someone deals on it then barclays give you a rebate based...

    FXCM Response to FXCM/PropFX Rating

I really appreciate your answer and perhaps I have misunderstood in the past. However as I understood it say the banks were quoting 1.9921/1.9922 in cable then the price on the prop platform might be 20/23 with the difference being the FXCM brokerage. After all no one expects FXCM not to earn...

    FXCM Response to FXCM/PropFX Rating

I am very interested in this point. Can you therefore confirm that no adjustment is ever made to the price feeds that are received by your platform from the banks.

Which currency, if 1.4 trillion hedge industry implodes

If , and it is a huge if, there is a similar situation to LTCM and the Russian devaluation then you sell as much dollar yen, eur chf and stg yen as you can. In 1988 the dollar yen fell about 30 bigs figures in a very short space of time, 20 of those in about 24 hours. It won't be a case...

    UK Limited Company

Say you make £300k - you pay 19% corp tax. If you then pay yourself a dividend up to top of the lower rate bank (about £35k) you pay no income tax on that amount. Any dividend paid above the £35k level then is subject to income tax. Not sure where yuou get 33% from - higher income...

    Saxo Bank Has Screwed Me

Apologies. My post was in reference to the forex fctory link. Would not have a clue re the Saxo claims. My guess is that their platform froze at 9.30 UK time after the CPI data and the guy bought £ on a stale price. I dare say if the price froze for a second then the guy has a valid...
