    IB or Oanda or ????

Thank you for your answer. To be honest I don't think your liquidity providers would be worried about people spreading an order across IB and several other firms in the manner you suggest. Currenex for example is usually a few pips wide in about 140 million in say euro doll, so if someone...

    IB or Oanda or ????

Have your your liquidity providers ever complained if they felt they were being picked off in fast markets? Have you ever warned or banned a fx trader from your platform for trading in these type of cirumstances?

    Broker Horror Stories??

I really hope you don't believe this rubbish. Interestingly I interviewed on of your traders for a position once. A few points he made to me. He said your model was built on the fact that 90%+ of your clients blow their account. You therefore prefer not to hedge anything, where possible...

    Broker Horror Stories??

As I said I was not trading with FXCM so it made no difference to me. But the figures were awful and as you recall the euro dollar gapped 150 pips higher straight away (not down as you suggest). I agree that no one can complain if they had buy stops above the price that got filled with huge...

    Broker - Futures and FX

I am actually going to start using futures next week using TT. Gawd knows how I will get on and will only be in addition to the stuff I do via ECNs.

    Broker Horror Stories??

But I think if a broker can act so obviously in such a bad way then they should never be trusted and shows how they believe a business should be run. If they had simply filled all the stops at the first price (ie 1oo+ pips higher) then they would not have lost and the customers would have all...

    Broker Horror Stories??

Amazing how selective FXCM is in responding to posts.

    Broker Horror Stories??

Can you please respond to my very specific question from yesterday and explain FXCM actions please? For instance it directly contravenes what you say above about FXCM not setting the prices. I can assure you not one single bank in August 2004 quoted a lower euro dollar rate after the figures...

    Broker Horror Stories??

FXCM please answer this question. In August 2004 (the month stops were no loner guaranteed if you had read the small print which thankfully I had) the Non farm payrolls were very weak. The euro dollar gapped higher about 140 pips. FXCM for a few seconds took the euro dollar lower before...

Can you clarify this statement please - I thought you already had a live forex platform?

    Euro Currency Futures 2006

Which ISV do people use for the Euro on CME. I like to be able to have 2 limit orders up (one buy and one sell) at all times so that whenever i tarde i just need to hit send on the relevant ticket to get filled. Sadly have just looked at TT and dont think it offers this functionality...

    Euro Currency Futures 2006

I can see many reasons to short the dollar in 2006 but I fear that everyone is already short of it again and this makes me very nervous. Trade the breakout of 1.20 to 1.22. This range has held for so long the breakout could be explosive.

    fx futures

What is the liquidity like over figures and when it is volatile? For example the second an econ number is released is it possible to buy/sell a couple of hundred contracts?

ACM is 5 pips on majors, not 3... (std accts)

Not at all. Just trading normally and found the WUSIWUG (or however they phrase it) was rubbish. Used to get fills that weren't what i had hit because somehow there would be a delay between me sending the order and them receiving it! Funnily enough it never worked in my favour!

ACM is 5 pips on majors, not 3... (std accts)

I doubt you would have a leg to stand on. I had an account open with them for about a week a few years ago unti l closed it. At the times their terms and conditions said they had the right to change any trade up to 48 hours after it has been carried out. It also stated that if you wanted...

    Prop firms in London

No problem. I am aware there are issues and that many US based firms wont take on UK individuals but will take UK corporate accounts. Similarly many UK firms cant or won't take on US based accounts. Not sure how relevant this is to your scenario though.

    Prop firms in London

To try and help. If you work in the UK and are a UK resident then the nationality of the firm you work for is irrelevant, I am sure. I think the form was a W-8BEN form. Where this has arisen is that when I have contacted a US firm based in the States and traded online via them. To ensure I...

    Prop firms in London

Not strictly true as CFDs are not tax free at all. Spead betting, which is similar, is though.

    Prop firms in London

I don't know the answer as have never come across this issue. However I can't help but feel the advice you have been given is wrong. If someone is a UK resident, a UK national, and works here I fail to see why they need anything like a US tax number or be liable for any US taxation...

    Prop firms in London

Couple of points. There are every few places in London or the surrounds that really cater for fx traders. I believe you have a misconception here. Most of the prop shops or arcades cater for futures traders. As to the tax question - most traders in the UK who are full time would trade via...
