    SCHWAB_Streetsmart Edge

In configuring the columns for the trading window, is there any way to save the settings? For example, I want to reorder the columns and change the "midpoint" column to something else. But these settings don't seem to get saved when I close the application. What a headache to have to...

On the charts, does anyone know how to get rid of the calendar bar at the bottom of each chart? It takes about 5% of the chart space away...

    SCHWAB_Streetsmart Edge

I do 95% of my trading with IB, and used SSPro for charts. Just setup SS Edge today, so haven't had an active days use. Immediately, I like: 1) Windows snap to edges. It was tedious/frustrating getting the windows to all align in SSPro. 2) Can save layout to Schwab server. I've...

    Seems like it, no?

    2011: Rebuilding My Battered Account

When I used to trade like Neke, this is the kind of week that would wipe me out. Occasionally big gains, but wipe out more often. Keeping my fingers crossed...

    CTA Track Record

I'm not seeing the need for the special software. You can even use a free spreadsheet like google docs if you don't even want to pay for that. Using a spreadsheet like Excel, you would list the daily returns. Then compound for the month. You would be as exact as any other method.

    interactive-brokers real-time liquidation madness

Looking at it from IB's side, they seem to be doing everything correct. If you trade illiquid futures, it is not IB that is a ticking bomb. It is your positions. I have been auto-liquidated before. I do understand that when it is your first time, you are shocked, in denial, and...

Bernanke - Irony of a Lifetime

You have to love the way this market works. However, we have POMO everyday (yes, the Fed is buying assets every single day) for the next 3 weeks so anything can happen.

Bernanke - Irony of a Lifetime

"...Higher stock prices will boost consumer wealth and help increase confidence, which can also spur spending. Increased spending will lead to higher incomes and profits that, in a virtuous circle, will further support economic expansion..." "...We have made all necessary preparations, and we...

Does IB negotiate futures commission fees?

I'm currently unbundled and totaling over $10k each month in commissions trading futures and options on futures. Does anyone have experience negotiating with IB? Do they do discounts/rebates?

My Computer Expoded - Have $2k budget for new computer

Thanks for all the help. I just got this one which should serve it's purpose for a few more years. Its basically an upgrade of a couple generations of the same card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130395 Hopefully, it solves the problem. Won't be sure until I...

My Computer Expoded - Have $2k budget for new computer

Bolimomo, It seems that this is exactly my problem. The diagnosis and picture fits. After taking a look, I have about 5 of those blown capacitors. Looks like I will be getting a new video card, though I may consider a new system still. My old one was an XFX 8600GT PCI x16. I'm not...

My Computer Expoded - Have $2k budget for new computer

The PSU was a Rosewill 500W. It was highly rated at Newegg at the time and had more than enough juice. The computer now starts and powers up. But sometimes it will reboot at any time, or display all kinds of different gibberish on the screen. Is this (along with the couple of firecracker...

My Computer Expoded - Have $2k budget for new computer

My computer did it's second firecracker explosion. It survived the first one last month somehow. But this time, everytime I start it up, a new surprise awaits my screen in gibberish. It lasted 3 years upon my own build, not bad but not great. Anyways, I don't want to build another and...

    Schonfeld Traders R.I.P.

I started trading almost 20 years ago. The first big innovation thereafter being that you could call in and touch tone your order. I honestly don't think that if I were to start today, that I could make it. In addition, if things get markedly worse, I have considered retiring from...

Futures & futures options - was there an arbitrage opp?

Actually, sorry, but my example didn't illustrate it clear enough. But there was a slightly higher difference than zero if you took the straight bid and offers at the time (mine is a bad example). Around .75 to 1.00. A better example: 1080 Puts - 2.25 x 3.50 1080 Calls - 19.50 x...

Futures & futures options - was there an arbitrage opp?

Yesterday, with the huge ramp I saw something like this: ES 1095 (end of month ES futures options that expire today) 1080 Puts - 2.50 x 3.75 1080 Calls - 18.75 x 20.00 Is this situation "free" arbitrage money? One could buy the ES and sell the calls, then buy the puts. Above...
