    The Failure of American Schools

Small businesses, non-union workers and other taxpayers carry the burden of the out-sized pay and benefit packages of unproductive unionized public workers. If I had to do it over again, I might well choose teaching instead of software work. I would be retired on a nice pension now instead...

I can't seem to link to work on ET. It works find on Facebook and elsewhere, below is a cut & past: This toxic lake poisons Chinese farmers, their children and their land. It is what's left behind after making the magnets for Britain's latest wind turbines... and, as a special Live...

    The Failure of American Schools

http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/print/2011/06/the-failure-of-american-schools/8497/ In fact, notwithstanding union rhetoric that “tenure is merely due process,” firing a public-school teacher for non-performance is virtually impossible. In New York City, which has some 55,000 tenured...

Prop firms use to train their people, but most now become education scams charging many thousands for their so called training. some charge 10-12k, others 5k or so. The least expensive is I know of is WTS, which charges 1.5k if you get accepted. There may be some free ones for new graduates...

    The 'Education' Mantra

Malaysia is mentioned as an example near the end of this article. The author used the world Malaysian when it was the ethnic Malays he was referring to. Too many people don't realize that most Chinese & Indians in Malaysia are also Malaysians born in the country, many have ancestors been there...

    Getting a McJob ain't easy

Let's forget those who have 5 kids. How about a single adult trying to survive? It may be possible to make ends meet when one is in good health, but a few sick days and one becomes homeless. Perhaps MacDonald's need to copy Wal-Mart, teach its workers to sponge off taxpayers applying for...

Has InteractiveBrokers (IB) EVER acknowledged and/or fixed an issue you reported?

Obviously, they do not have a competent QA, or Customer Service department never forwarded your screenshots to the development folks. It seems they are more busy putting in new "enhancements" than fixing existing problems. I use them to trade options due to low commissions that allows me to...

    Women and Unemployment

What a joke! How about 10 million rich men retire from their jobs then 10 million unemployed men or women will get jobs/employment? Men or women, if you don't need a job, don't deprive another person of one! Nice idea. It may be better to have a 20-30 hour work-week so all can have a job if...

    Women and Unemployment

And who are creating those children living on welfare? It is men who walked away form the responsibilities of fatherhood that the state became responsible for the children. If men do not screw around so irrepressibly, there would be few welfare children and less child poverty.

    Getting a McJob ain't easy

You are right. About 1 MILLION people are looked for a job at mcdonalds on that 1 day. If you are over 30 and w/o fast food experience, your chance of getting a job is not good. And even if you do get a job, it is not likely you can live on your own - except in your van or truck.

    Getting a McJob ain't easy

On April 19th, McDonald's launched its first-ever national hiring day, signing up 62,000 new workers at stores throughout the country. For some context, that's more jobs created by one company in a single day than the net job creation of the entire US economy in 2009. And if that boggles the...

17,500 Farmers Killed Themselves every Year in India

Even if you can't vote, all you need is a baby to get all the benefits. Much better deal than a minimum wage job. If you don't have housing help from a partner or family, a minimum wage job leads to homelessness in parts of the country. These jobs provide no benefits, though you may be able...
