    Pictures of your trading stations

+1. what happens when a trade goes against you w/ that stupid tray? i'll tell you what - the toast will be the first casualty when you throw your hands up in frustration.

Ninjatrader vs. Multicharts. Getting fed up with NT

LOL. yeah when i read that i thought "that's like blake lively showing up at your house naked and you say to her 'umm i can't right now - it's time for me to go on ET and post a pic of my trading station".

    Automated Exits

you could use all three. i.e. fixed target of 4 atr (or absolute amount based on technicals like S/R), time based like 5 days for swing trade, trailing (last swing high/low or 5 period ma). +1 to another poster's comment that things change when you put $ on the line. your stop strategy will...

    Famous option traders

Susquehanna (SIG) is prob the best in terms of institutional options traders (up there w/ citadel). very math/quant heavy and they understand risk/reward unlike the rest of wall street banks. prob b/c it's still a private company and if they lose money it comes directly out of their pockets...

    volatility trading

OP, all great advice from the other posters. here's my advice: tell your professor in front of the whole class: those that can't trade options vol, teach others how to trade options vol:cool: then come on here and provide a description of what happened next.

Easiest method to short the Euro?

have a party b/c you'll make a fortune. i strongly suggest NOT holding leveraged etf's for more than 1 day due to the math involved (it has been covered a million times elsewhere). just buy fxe puts.

market down and there are too many

+1 to what kztrading said re getting an alert if the ul reaches a certain price. if trading that many (that's not a lot) individual stocks is too much just trade industry/sector/market etf's. less stock specific risk and usually cleaner patterns.

    Beware of Adobe 8 upgrade

brownsfan has the right idea. you an alternate pdf reader. much more lightweight w/ no bloatware/viruses/whatever. i use sumatra http://blog.kowalczyk.info/software/sumatrapdf/free-pdf-reader.html but to each his own

sometimes logging in as "administrator" or "admin" in the username field and leaving the password field blank works.

    Becoming A Trader

to the OP, i strongly suggest you disregard everything the previous poster said. maybe in his world you shouldn't even attempt to trade unless you have $38 billion like paulson. i've been in the EXACT same position you described and i've been able to continually improve as a trader and...

It seems all the pros use Price Analysis and Noobies use Technical Indicators

I've look at doing this exact strategy in the past and the problem is that i would STILL wait for price confirmation (negative divergence wait for price to go below x for short) and i started thinking "if i'm waiting for a price confirmation before i enter a trade, why don't i just trade off of...

    NG spike Wed 8th June

nice! unfortunately the bond villain has to die in the end so here's how i want to go out...i'm in a fight w/ bond and he knocks over maestro's setup on top of me and i die of blunt force trauma and then bond says something witty like "you've just went limit down" (actually that sounds like...

It seems all the pros use Price Analysis and Noobies use Technical Indicators

SOLD! anyways couldn't agree more re focusing on price. your clearing firm pays you on price not indicators. this has been said before but it needs to be repeated - why would you focus on a lagging derivative of price when you can focus on price itself? you can tell everything you need to...

    Pictures of your trading stations

i agree w/ having backup keyboard/mice/batteries at the ready (no not buried in the closet somewhere where it will take you an hour to find them when your equipment is down in the heat of battle). anyways funny true story i heard... this trader in a room full of traders got so upset that a...

    options or futures

also remember that futures have much more risk than long options. with options the most you can lose is the premium, not w/ futures. you could use futures w/ a hedge in options though. if you want to capture more of the move try buying more ITM options for a higher delta (no option w/...

    How to reduce ES slippage

+1 for kcgoogler's suggestion to hit the bid/ask w/ a limit order. here's another suggestion if you're worried about missing a breakout that might not pull back and don't want to use the above suggestion and don't want to enter a market order (understandable): enter a limit order to buy 1 tick...

Do you need a super computer for TOS platform?

+1 to everyone cloudy said. make sure you have anti-virus installed use cccleaner (http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER) on a regular basis (a tip for cccleaner: do NOT mess w/ the registry settings!).

    options or futures

OP. be careful buying OTM calls for a rtm to the upside b/c vol crush will crush you (yes i learned the hard way!). another tip for playing rtm: have a stop b/c the market doesn't always reverse after being overbought/sold (yes learned this the hard way too).
