I got long at 96.50 on one of JJ's continuation buys? I think it was, anyway I have my stop at 97.50 for 1 pt lock in profit.

Just an observation: at 11:40a $spx= +.12 $indu= -.02% $ndx= -.10% Here's the way I use this: If you want to short...short the YM or NQ If you want to go long....buy ES If you must trade, but aren't sure of the direction: Short 1 nq and buy 1 es for a spread or short 1 ym...

    Trading the Pivots

I did not take the normal S2 trade today (see previous posts). It's basically a buy S2 or sell R2 using a 4 point stop with money management outlined in previous pages on this thread. JJ brings up a good point regarding trading after 3:30pm. I trade with IB and you really must be careful...

    Trading the Pivots

It looks like another continuation sell signal, except I don't like the risk/reward as we are right on top of the S2. I'm going to stand aside on this one.

Out of final quarter with +2.00. Not a big trade, as I made an average of 1.50 points per contract, while losing .75 per contract by being impatient on the first trade. I do like JJ's set-ups and do think they have validity in the correct market context.

    Trading the Pivots

Bailed on half with 1 point and moved stop to break-even on the other half. If it goes great...If not....no biggie.

    Trading the Pivots

Okay, reshorted at 95.50, but I'm using a close stop of 96.50. - If it goes, great...If not...small loss.

    Trading the Pivots

I just bailed at 1296.25 for a .75 cent loss. No big deal, If I'm in a trade for 30 minutes and it is going nowhere, I get out. There's always going to be another one. :)

Re: Trin I do watch the trin, but I always look at the top 10 volume leaders, here is why. F, LU, GTW are all low priced stocks, and account for over 70 million shares so far. That is more than the next 7 volume leaders combined. You, also, have GTW and LU in arb mode and F says...

Continuation Sell? CCI below 0 Prices Below 18 sma I'll take it with a stop above S1 1298.25 Only risking 2.75 points I will move stop down if market moves my way.

    Trading the Pivots

Won't we get a continuation sell signal IF prices move back below the 18 and the CCI goes negative?

    Trading the Pivots

JJ, I like your set-ups as they are ( I use CCI 14). One thing that helps me is to know about any numbers that may move the market . http://www.marketwatch.com/news/economy/economic_calendar.asp?siteid=mktw&dist=& I knew housing was coming out at 10:00am, thus no trades until after...

    Trading the Pivots

Looks like we're stuck between the Monthly R1=1304.25 Weekly Pivot=1295.00 The good news is that we have had 2 very narrow range days in a row, so a wide range day is getting closer :)

    Trading the Pivots

Just missed my second exit on my morning long as we came within 1 tick of my exit. Darn those Fed guys :) Long at the S1 1298.50 Bailed on half at 1300.50 Bailed on half of the half at 1302.25 (PP) Will trail the remaining quarter at b/e or 2 ticks below the previous 30 minute bar...

    Trading the Pivots

Here are a few things that I have picked up during my trading career. Many of you already know them, but for some they might be of help. 1) Almost everything you do in trading will be wrong. You will get in too late and out too early, EVERYTIME. 2) If you aren't the type of person who...

    Trading the Pivots

I will now bail on half of my remaining half at 1306.00, as the R1 is 1306.50 ( I need the ask to get to 1306.25). IF filled, I will leave my remaining, quarter position, on until the close or a break-even stop is hit.

I'll try the attachment one more time. If it doesn't work, you can pretty much see for yourself on your own charts. LOL

    Trading the Pivots

I'm going to try and make an attachment. Trade: Long at 1302.75 @ 10:10am bar. This looks to be one of JJ's continuation buy set-ups. It is, also, a bounce from the pivot and for you Woodie traders a ZLR. Stop is initially placed below the set-up bar. Target on half was 1304.25 as...

    Trading the Pivots

I'm not sure how much you need to tweak. I didn't want to post during the day today, so as not to throw more information into the mix. As you know from my previous posts, I tend to just trade the S1,S2 and R1,R2 areas using a 4 point stop. Think about it this way. If you would have...
