    Index's Intraday lately

IMO, they are starting to resemble "pure" commodity markets. The overall illiquidity aside from the programs and the bots is apparent. i.e. prices "adjust" to new information and instantly reprice at which time price discovery disappears and ranges contract. New information is acted upon and...

    ING offering 2 year CD @ 4%

maybe you missed the point here. Guys are talking risk free rate of return. Although CD's and such dont really fall into that category per se. But some short term treasuries, etc, etc... (Granted nothing is 100% risk free, but as close as one can get to that)

    Question for experienced futures traders

If you are talking about index futures, you have near 24 hour markets to avoid that scenario. Your biggest risk would be accidentally putting on a position ahead of a pre-market report that you had not been aware of. Otherwise, the volatility is seriously muted these days.

    tryin to buy an nsx

Maybe the best advice is for Keyser to rent the car for a few days, get it all out of his system and then get back to business. Like you're saying, between sky high insurance rates, huge maintenance costs, the initial capital required to buy the car is a drop in the bucket compared to how much...

    tryin to buy an nsx

I swear someone made this same proposal 2-3 years ago. It may have even been for an Acura NSX as well. Some neophyte who couldnt keep it to himself, but had to litter the board with his delusional concept of what success means. Let me guess, you still live at home with mom and dad too right?

    ING offering 2 year CD @ 4%

yeah, I have been making that same argument. The Fed cutting rates to ridiculous lows was a catalyst for alot of money pouring into alternative investments, no matter how conservative the strategy of the fund manager. But as we have seen in 2005, even the so-called low risk funds have had...

    Can Etrade be held liable?

What the hell is going on over at that place anyway? They got people getting ripped off thru fraudulent ACH transfers, traders leveraging up with prop firm leverage, etc, etc... They probably should send one of their yes men over onto this site to clean up all the bad PR they are getting...

Risk of Losing More than Investment with a CTA?

Actually, there is a similar type of pure commodity fund listed on IASG that has a similar type of volatility of returns. I think the fund had a drawdown of 65% in the first 3-4 months of this year and then had a couple of bang out months. Its hard for me to believe that these guys will...

    S&P 500 looking very toppy

In these zig zag markets with volatile swings from one end of the range to the other, I am afraid your advice is rather worthless. Sideways markets punish the trend followers relentlessly. Perhaps this trend has legs still, but I think you're overstating your case by lecturing a guy for making...

    Where's the ''economic benefit'' anyway?

I kind of get the jist of Risktaker's argument because I have seen his other posts about the current state of the market. I agree the market is oversaturated and its sort of skewed the price structure over the past few years. But I was saying the same things at different times over the past...
