CAPITALISM: I used to think the Republican side was clearly better...

That's what makes support for any Democrat, anywhere, impossible. Grey Davis ran as a moderate Democrat, but when he ran into troubles he went running into the arms of his Marxist base. Who, like triple A says, aren't interested in a healthy business climate or whether you stay in state. The...

CAPITALISM: I used to think the Republican side was clearly better...

That is so very true. In fact, they used the threat of violence all the time when trying to reign in the welfare state, specifically during 1996 welfare reform act.

Here is a nice article on for things to come to fuck this state up further: http://www.jillstewart.net/issue0904.html The Worst Laws I Have Ever Seen What You Should Have Been Watching Instead of that Boring Debate (Sept 4, 2003) ~ By Jill Stewart Wednesday's recall debate broke...

    Optionetics Alternatives...

I am more of a type A trader, however I use B extensively. With edge so tight in the options I trade it essential for me to use intraday skills to leg into positions for positve theoretical edge. Most of my options positions have been long vol over the last 4 months, thus it is neccessary to...

How much is the full Tradesecrets seminar? People have posed this question before; is seminar X worth Y amount of money? My answer is almost always no. Two days of classes for $3000 is ludricrous, just spend a couple of hundred dollars on the books recomended and do a lot of studying.

Volume is back but what's going on

Exactly, I have been trading IBM and CSCO which have been going nuts, but other stuff seems subdued.

    Interesting situation in an Option

I would just like to add that you have the right idea, but just need to get down all the relationships and synthetics. Couple that with some creativity and options will seam a hell of a lot easier. Volatility, on the other hand, is more difficult, it will take a lot more work and experience.

    Interesting situation in an Option

I don't think you guys understand. Please pardon me for the caps, but IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHETHER YOU LEG INTO THE 10/20 CALL SPREAD FOR A TEN DOLLAR CREDIT OR BUY A 20 CALL AND SELL STOCK FOR ZERO OVER PARITY. You will profit the same either way(maybe more with the latter if the stock goes...

Crd bull spread or ratio spread?

I trade csco, in fact, today I put on a new position for some of the reasons you mentioned. Although, I'm looking to take advantage of a move either way. I can't really comment on the vertical as it isn't my style and fairly straight forward anyway; you're just straight bullish with limited...

    Interesting situation in an Option

I don't understand this discussion. Why are you bothering the 10 call anyway? Is the stock short restricted? That ten call should for all intents and purposes be considred stock, IV does have a place in this discussion. Also, you shouldn't think of this as a bear call spread, it is buying...

What the hell is wrong with the French?

here is a Q&A for the Chicago heat wave: http://www.press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/443213in.html Another thing, I don't refer to what most people call liberals by such a name because they aren't except by American standards. France is a social democracy and shouldn't be called...

    Historic VIX

I agree with this, and while Vultures numbers maybe be right for the short term, I think it will return to the range Oldtrader describes. I'm seeing it right now.

I'll give you that one, it would suck to miss the 1 day of the year to make your trade. But, it's also true he isn't put stress on himself day in and day out, or maybe Bright trading has a special volume threshhold where open heart surgery is included also. Enough of that since today was...

Prop firms for position options traders?

Typically these firms cater to floor traders on the various echanges, with different ones focusing on different aspects of the markets. For instance, SLK, a sub of Goldman, goes after the Don Bright type business; option clearing is only a part of what they do and typically didn't go after the...

Did I hear that right? Is Don offering free cocktails? I may attend either way as there are plenty of places in the area to quench my thirst, especially with the $50 Et discount to ease the blow. Why couldn't it have been during the week? Right now, I'm literelly board stiff and haven't...

Prop firms for position options traders?

Echo seems to recruit options traders, I think they require 50k. With enough capital you could go directly to clearing firms, SLK, FOC, Sage. etc...

    lowest option price

Unless things have changed, the lowest price for an option is a cabinet. If I remember right, it is technically 1 cent which doesn't cover commission costs for most. From my experience, it doesn't trade very often except when a brokerage turns the screws on a CS for some reason. As far as a...
