Do you advise holding emergency cash?

That's a long list of things to keep that you hopefully would never need. What about just keeping a gun and if the worst case scenario actually happens, the gun will let you just take what you need from your neighbor.

Do you advise holding emergency cash?

I don't see that there should be a worry about a run for cash from the banks like what happened in the great depression. The vast majority of transactions are electronic now. You can function quite well without cash in today's society.

    FREE Realtime S&P Futures Quotes???

I'm pretty sure you're not going to get realtime futures data for free. Before you spend any money for data, you might want to question is it really necessary? Say if you wanted to test a trading method, couldn't you test it just as well with delayed data?

    FREE Realtime S&P Futures Quotes???

You used to be able to get free real time quotes from Scottrade. Does anyone know if that still works? You had to sign up for a username and password but you didn't have to have an actual account. They don't have futures but you can get SPY or QQQQ quotes or maybe the S&P actual index...

All this Feels Just Like 911 - Except its Economic Terrorism this time:

I don't believe it was 9-11 that created the environment. It was the over reaction or misguided reaction that created the environment. I heard that they wanted to go into Iraq way before 9-11, 9-11 just provided a convenient excuse. The overspending by the Bush administration has done...

All this Feels Just Like 911 - Except its Economic Terrorism this time:

With all due respect to the victims of 911, all Osama did was cost the country a few billion dollars for a couple of 30 year old buildings. Bush and Cheney with their over reaction to 911 have cost the country trillions of dollars for a useless war.

    Obama Tax Cuts

I don't think Osama Bin Laden planned for a collapse of the American empire. Just like the World Trade Center, Osama just wanted to make a big show, he didn't count on the buildings collapsing. The same with the American empire, Osama just wanted to stir things up, he didn't count on the self...

    Obama Tax Cuts

Traditionally democrats are supposed to be the big spenders, what's changed?: http://www.lafn.org/politics/gvdc/Natl_Debt_Chart.html With all due respect to the victims of 9-11, Osama Bin Laden only cost the US a few billion dollars by destroying a couple of old buildings. George Bush and...

    Failin' With Palin

Here's evidence of Sarah's view on global warming: http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/08/palin-global-wa.html As for the argument between evolution and creationism, Sarah didn't really support creationism alone, she said "teach both". I guess she can't make up her mind. You'd think...

    Failin' With Palin

I was a little curious about this woman and here is what I found: Sarah Palin doesn't believe in evolution and thinks that creationism should be taught in every classroom. She has said she does not believe in global warming and wants to take polar bears off the endangered species list because...

    The Future Of America

I see that the biggest problem facing America right now is excessive debt from both the people and the government that they elect. Why do Americans accumulate too much debt? Americans on average watch more TV every day than any other country in the world. They watch TV or should I say get...

A Program to Turn Computer on Autmatically?

I've tried a number of ways to turn the computer on automatically and I've found that using the BIOS is the easiest way. Not every computer BIOS is the same and they're not always reliable to turn on the computer. I have several computers and just experimented with the BIOS on each until I found...

Lots of Jobs and Less Than $1 Per Gallon Gasoline

The best answer I've seen so far is to make fuel from algae. One acre of algae can produce over 10,000 gal/year as compared as compared to corn which can only produce 18 gal/year per acre. An area of about 100 miles by 100 miles can produce enough fuel for all the United States. Oil from...

Cheap Products vs. High Wages... Americans Want BOTH!

It doesn't help that the American government encourages debt by making mortgages tax deductible in the US. It's quite easy to use a home equity loan for personal consumption. Very few other countries allow this deduction. It would be virtually impossible in a democratic system for any politician...

Cheap Products vs. High Wages... Americans Want BOTH!

I don't know the exact numbers but I believe America imports about 2 trillion dollars a year of good with 1 trillion of that being oil. If they wanted to reduce their trade defecit the first thing they should look at is oil. It's a large country with lots of resources. There's all kinds of ways...
