He is saying that it is binary- no stops. What stops would make sense here? I would assume win rate would drop below 50% (it’s already low based on the article) and the premium capture they quote is 4-8% of a pretty small value to begin with (tree to four legs commission not included) Sounds...

    Combo trade on VFC

The trade was done on 12/8, so it’s already x-div. And options expire on 12/16, while dividend is paid on 12/19. So it looks to me dividends are irrelevant in this play. https://www.holdingschannel.com

Found this interesting since this is based on actual trading stats, not back-tests. I'm assuming their clients are retail traders and most likely trade copy-cat "template" strategies. https://optionalpha.com/blog/0dte

So the dividend is not in play. How is it an arbitrage? “VF's upcoming ex-dividend date is on Dec 08, 2022. VF shareholders who own VFC stock before this date will receive VF's next dividend payment of $0.51 per share on Dec 19, 2022.“

Not an expert, but it seems that it’s as likely that someone wanted to short puts and called investment bank to get it done. The banker made the market, hedged and reported the stock transaction a bit delayed. Did you record OI today so you can check tomorrow if they indeed shorted puts?

    Another “what’s your edge” thread

In the video I posted, he briefly mentioned an intraday-day options strategy that was based on some volatility research. Once that research was made public/accessible, he knew it would no longer be working.

The above is pretty cool. Below is [very long] video discussing different edges and their pros and cons. For example, the better the edge, the more there’s competition for it (assuming it’s worth perusing at all)

Hello, congrats! So you’re planning to have NYSE OpenBook and ARCA as well? If I only use historical data, are there any exchange fees? Will I need to consolidate all the books myself? For example, can I request MBP for all available books? Edit: Also. Can I request only top N levels to...

    Order Flow Trading In 2022

Ah, that’s where the disconnect was. I thought you were tracking famous guys like Buffet, Ackman, etc. Question: when you track your managers, do you try to separate “closet indexers” from guys that have an edge. Or you don’t care as long as their buying will move the stock?
