I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

Don't know if Jack will check everything but what how do you call a formation where the high of both bars is the same but the low of the second bar is lower than the on of the first bar? Look at bar 7 and 18.

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

I'm doing the first step to point out inconsistencies or errors. It is up to Jack to decide if my point of view is correct or not. Sometimes I am right and he corrects his error(s). But sometimes he pulls another rabbit out of his hat and shows/proves to me what I didn't notice when I made my...

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

Interestingly I have never seen PFP, FPF and PEP before. The names for the eleven volume elements that he used before are: "...Here are the 11 expression names which you have been using: P1, T1, P2, T2P, T2F, Not T2P, Not T2F, Not Not T2P, Not Not T2F, P3F and P3P..."

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

If I would be strict then I would say you didn't annotate/log the previous day's bar 79,80 and 81 correctly. It looks like degaped it creates a lateral which is not finished many bars later the next day. Just saying. :)

You need to check your definition of Jokari and Modrian. For this go a few posts back where Jack explains this to outsource. The Jokari window however was not explained in this thread.

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

Every morning when a new day starts you might have a gap between the open and the previous day's close. You have to close that gap by either mentally or physically (copy the last bars of the previous day) aligning yesterdays close with today's open at the open. You also have gaps between...

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

Immediately after reading the words "incomplete" and "complete" it made "click" and some of what you wrote came back to my memory. Thanks for the explanations! Let's try to advance jered in his understanding. Don't overload him with too much information. Just little chunks. Step by step.

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

Don't worry for now. Jack just gave you an outlook what is still to come and I just jumped ahead. At the moment he wants you to be able to log the bar formations. Look at his log example. Can you say for each bar if you are allowed to measure volume? If you think based on your knowledge that...

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

Here the keyword is: "appropriate panel"! How do you know which of the four panels to choose?

Here is Jack's example how to use the log: http://elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3599827 And this is the chart that was used: http://elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=3600528

Not sure if you mean the one you asked me to do once for the volume category test procedure. You can find it here: http://elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=247813

This means you are stuck and can not proceed further. Did you notice anything else that you are missing when you tried to fill the log? I could give you the names of the eleven volume instances but it would not help you. You would first need to know what their order of events is and then you...

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

Doesn't matter which one you choose. But today's first bars are fine. The important thing is that you "get your feet wet". This way you will quickly find out what you already understand, where you have issues and how you are able to connect and transfer what you see on the chart to your log.

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

Give it a try. Your bar #1 is relative to bar 81. Which formation do you get with bar 1? Try to fill everything for the next bars.

That's too much detail which will unnecessarily confuse you at the beginning. At this stage the log that Jack proposes is very simple. Read what he wrote again line by line. In the text I could identify around 5 columns at this point.

I am getting my butt handed to me on a daily basis!

That's an old log. The one he used for his "old way" where the focus seemed to be on encapsulating price in channels. Nowadays he is focusing on volume and his "RDBMS way". For this I can see two types of possible logs. One is for the "Volume category test procedure" and the other one where...

What do these three situations say to you?

The little details seem to escape my mind. "Turns", "dominant", "non-dominant", "segments", "EE turns", "colour change", "vector direction". I could show you on your charts where I might see what I think you mean and at the same time I could show you on your own charts where it doesn't seem to...

What do these three situations say to you?

Thanks for the explanations. Regarding the "normal trend" (=C)... this trend consists of: 1. c. Dominant to Dominant (D-D) 2. a. Dominant to Non-dominant (D-ND) 3. b. Non-dominant to dominant (ND-D) 4. c. Dominant to Dominant (D-D) Somehow this doesn't fit with what I "know" about...

What do these three situations say to you?

For PP3s I found this definition: "...a T1 between two consecutive P1's...". But your quoted comment above seems to define PP3 as three TT1's. Which definition is correct? Whenever I read "consecutive" or "accelerating" in your definitions does this always mean that between bar n-1 and n...
