Oh, yeah? What do you know about it?

    Best technical indicator EVER!... You.

They say not to cast your pearls before swine, but in this case I'm curious to see if this will be ripped to shreds or if it will be accepted as profound. So go ahead, give it a read and post some comments.

    Stock or Index analysis

Has anyone ever been challenged to pick a stock (within the S&P 500) that will beat the S&P 500? I am wondering what factors people look at to tell the strength of a stock or index or the weakness of another. I've attached a picture of the QQQ index and the DIA index on the same chart. Notice...

    Becoming an independent trader

Okay, I know you've already got 14 pages of replies, but I'm a big believer in psychology so I'll offer this up. With that much money I know it's not appealing to "begin small" and very tempting to put in more money. But here's the appeal to starting small. If you trade a small position...

can someone give me the holy grail

Pretty close. Take a lesson from a crane (bird: great at fishing). Stalk, stalk, stalk, stalk, wait, wait, wait, stalk, wait, STAB!!!!!! Just think of all the "opportunities" he "misses" by not stabbing at the fish more often. At least that's how traders tend to think. In reality, if all his...

Would you rather Trade or Be Rich?

That advice might be best given to the mirror. I don't have this yet because it takes time to grow. My current path doesn't have me breaking even $1 million until 2015. And when it happens, I would like to be able to enjoy it on 3 trades per month and tons of free time. How I trade to get there...

Would you rather Trade or Be Rich?

I'm glad other people can relate to what I'm talking about. So I wonder if others would find it helpful to have a trading club where the goal is not so much to talk about trading or trading strategies as it is to just encourage filling up the downtime between "duuhh" trades and reminding one...

    Black Monday Oct 31, 2011

I don't know man, I have some pretty reliable indicators that let me know when major changes are approaching in the market and I don't seen any of those for tomorrow. The Dow is at 12,231 now and MOST LIKELY won't go below 11,950 till the end of the week at the earliest. If it hits anywhere...

Would you rather Trade or Be Rich?

I like your optimism. The fact is, my system gives me about 3 per month but the number of trades I had been taking in reality was closer to 15.

Would you rather Trade or Be Rich?

Exactly! Well said. This is what I've decided to stop doing. Ditch the secondary trades.

    An Observation

Unfortunately, no. You can't mature and grow out of this. What you CAN do though, is discredit the lies that others have planted in your head about this being impossible. I suggest researching the characteristics of successful traders vs. the characteristics of failures and seeing which one you...

account resistance --> must be psychology problem

Oops, I'm a month late. Congrats on the new high in the account.

Would you rather Trade or Be Rich?

Sorry, I edited my post and now yours doesn't make sense. I'm going for it. From now on, I wait patiently and enjoy life as it comes. No more feeling obligated to trade every day. I know my skill can pick between 3 and 6 trades per month, and there's no reason to do 10, 15 or 20 trades.

Would you rather Trade or Be Rich?

Or just an evening job. Anyway, I always thought I wanted to be rich. But when I really thought about it I felt kind of bored and a little sad at the idea of taking only trades beneath my skill level. Turns out I want to trade more than I want to be rich. And knowing is half the battle...

    Attention: I am now short!

Good job on finding the end of a minor trend. What you failed to realize, though, is that the end of an up trend could lead to either a down-trend OR a counter-trend. Unfortunately for you, it was the latter. If you take that "trend-end finding" skill and apply it to closing your positions...

account resistance --> must be psychology problem

How long have you been trading? How is it that you find 2 months of stagnancy unreasonable? From the middle of August to the beginning of October was a 7 week span of large swings in the market and only for 3 weeks now has there been any kind of trend or regularity. I didn't do well or grow...

    WE are the 95%!

Actually the answer is that the winners take the money from the losers. If the 95% of all traders who are losers suddenly quit, where would the winners get their winnings from? Answer? Other winners, which would end up making those winners losers. And those losers quit too forcing the winners to...

    Increasing Size During Drawdown

Interesting saying, "The market has no memory." Because it definitely does have one. The market is just a huge mass of people. People who buy and sell are the ones who move the price and their decisions are based on their emotional memory. They hesitate because of the last big loss or jump in...

Can I drive your R8? It would really help me to relax. Thanks in advance.

Would you rather Trade or Be Rich?

Sure there are no guarantees, but I'm sure you can look back over your trade log and say, "This trade here was really clear and everything lined up," and you took it, and it went well. All it takes to be wealthy over time is to not trade beyond one's skill level, wherever that level is. But...
