    yes - i think so. but holding overnight can be very risky these days. and if one of your stops gets triggered the same day - you would have a daytrade.

    IB margin accounts under 25K

    michaelday if you have a margin account with less than $25K you can do 3 daytrades within a 5 day period - and buying power will be updated real time - as ib told me few days ago. you will also still have 2:1 margin.

    concerning the margin accounts: you can still open a margin account with $2K - also after august 28th. nobody says that every margin account is a "pattern day trader" account which would require $25K.

    hy, i would like to know if somebody of you trades nasdaq stocks with an avg daily vol about 1-2M. it seems that these stocks do not move so nervous like the popular heavy traded ones with volumes of 10M and more. what do you think? the spreads on the thinner stocks tend to be pretty wide...
