Why choose Vista? Big risk for no benefit. At the very least, wait a year before beginning to use Vista.

Iran Strike By US Scheduled For 6th April 2007

Yes you did, and quite brilliantly in only three weeks. But for peacekeeping and nation-building Americans don't seem to be suited for. You should outsource that business - unfortunately nobody else wants to take that task. As to Iran, the idea of an gasoline import embargo is excellent...

Iran Strike By US Scheduled For 6th April 2007

I don't understand where this pessimistic fear-mongering is coming from. Before EVERY WAR recently we see these same arguments. Also before the Iraqi war there was a lot of defeatism everywhere, how the enemy is so terribly strong, that we can't possibly win, at least not without terrible...

Us Investors Advised To Leave Bahrain

More Mossad disinformation? "Earlier, DEBKAfile quoted intelligence sources in Moscow as predicting that a US strike against Iranian nuclear installations codenamed Operation Bite has been scheduled for April 6 at 0040 hours. Missiles and air raids will conduct strikes designed to be...

Oh, didn't know it's a paid release. Thanks.

    Chicago PMI leaked?

The Chicago Purchasing Manager Index was supposed to be released at 9:45 today. It would seem the (surprisingly positive) data was known to somebody already 4 minutes earlier, as the futures started rallying on high volume at 9:41. Was the data leaked, or what could explain this? Of course...

No, you need to start a new thread. How exactly do you tell when leadership in the market is thin?

Less than 20% fall in home prices will destroy the banking system?

Indeed, something is not right. There's so much talk about the housing bubble in the US, but very little about a much worse bubble elsewhere. At least in the UK prices seem to be even crazier, probably in many other western European countries as well. Anyone find any data/discussion about...

Less than 20% fall in home prices will destroy the banking system?

Second Great Depression, indeed. Seems inevitable. What is most surprising here is that how can the banks possibly gotten into such a bad situation. IF it is true that a 20% fall in house prices at the top of a bubble can bankrupt the entire banking system, there is something seriously wrong...

Wow, thanks! Care to explain why?

Less than 20% fall in home prices will destroy the banking system?

That sure is the conventional wisdom! :D Why would anybody with, say, 20% negative equity in his home and no or little other assets choose NOT to foreclose and just walk away from way-too-high monthly payments?

Less than 20% fall in home prices will destroy the banking system?

Bank equity less than 23% of their real estate exposure. http://streetlightblog.blogspot.com/2007/03/can-banks-weather-real-estate-storm.html Just a 15% fall in home prices will wipe out 21% of homeowners. http://www.economist.com/finance/displayStory.cfm?story_id=8885853 Does anybody...

    QuoteTraker backfill from IB

Newest beta (3.8.2e) still did not fix this problem. Cannot get backfills for the latest hour. I do have Java 6 and everything else up to date as well.

The next war in Afghanistan and Iran

Until the opium trade is legalized, there is absolutely no hope of victory in Afganistan. But it seems the US rather wants to continue killing people than to legalize drugs.

Iran: US can't afford another war

First, I believe every nation has a right to independence. As stated above, "Non-Persians make up nearly 40 per cent of Iran's 69 million population, with around 16 million Azeris, seven million Kurds, five million Ahwazis and one million Baluchis". So, Iran seems to be as diverse as Jugoslavia...
