    Bitcoin Surpasses Gold

Since Bitcoin is supposed to act as an inflation hedge, essentially modeled after gold, then either gold is suppressed, or Bitcoin is clearly overvalued. We can expect either gold to pop upwards, or Bitcoin to reverse. If I had to park cash in either, I'd choose the "cheaper" gold for sure.

    IB changing the Quote subscription

Now you are acting like a child- did you really find it necessary to include this last snipe? I guess your feelings were hurt that some folks don't bow down to the IB gods....or lick their boots, as the case may be.

    IB changing the Quote subscription

Are you trying to make the case that the price increase is due to the regulation change none of it goes for profit? I complained about IB hiding a price increase behind a regulatory excuse, which you must consider "moaning". I think the more ANNOYING action is taking on the role of SJW for IB...

    IB changing the Quote subscription

Do you work for IB? Why are you defending their rates and rate increases? So because they charged just $10 prior, we should be "grateful" and not complain about a 45% price increase and just shut up about it? My point still stands- the other brokerages have not announced price increases, and...

    IB changing the Quote subscription

Funny thing is I don't see Ameritrade, Scott Trade, Etrade, or other brokers/ data providers making any similar data price increase announcements. It seems to me that IB is just using "regulations" as an excuse to hike rates and deflect the blame elsewhere. It's certainly not costing them...

ES day trading journal - my final attempt

The best method of learning with capital preservation is: 1) Try out a technique/method on Demo to prove it works over time using the EXACT same rules/discipline you use on live. 2) Move to live after a proven track record on Demo. 3) If you mess up on live, move back to Demo and work on what...

Why did trend following work well in commodities in 1970s but lost effectiveness later?

The market is an "open system", which means it will change as new data or actions are introduced. As such, techniques that worked in the past won't work now as people become familiar with them and so become market "neutralized". This is why any published cookbook step by step "how to trade"...

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

ETrade data works if you have an account with them, DTNIQ is another option, but the writing is clearly on the wall that it's time to be looking at MT or another alternative. QT still being used even though it lost primary support in 2011 is a testament to its quality and versatility, but the...

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

I confirmed that it works for me as well- nice to be able to have the latest java updates again.

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

Okay, I also asked IB about this and they said it's related to the latest Java version. They recommended uninstalling the latest version and switching to Java version 1.7.0_55, which fixed the issue.

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

I wonder what changed in the last week or so triggered the bug... Is there a workaround/fix? Thanks.

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

I'm having a data backfill problem with futures data using IB as the data source. For the last week or two, triggering backfill fills in the data only up to 2 hours from the present time- leaving a gap between realtime data and past data that takes 2 hours to fill. Stock data backfills...

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

Will that force Quotracker to use the copy instead of the original/protected CME Globex? I'm also having an issue trying to get the charts to correctly display the new ES CME Globex time changes: From CME's site: "As of first trade date November 19, 2012, the trading day on CME Globex...
