What subscriptions do you use. When I wrapped my assets into a corporation, I had no idea that the exchanges would charge me professional fees. I ended up having to sign a professional subscriber agreement with the NYSE, which costs much more than that for market depth.

    Interactive Brokers - FX Trading

Addendum to my recent post. "It does not matter if it sells the 1.41000 lot or the 1.42000 lot." "It does not matter whether it sells the initial lot or your second lot"

    Interactive Brokers - FX Trading

I am confused about what you are having trouble with. You place an order for long 100,000 GBP/USD @1.42000. Let's say that GBP drops to 1.4100 and you double down and place another order for 100,000. You have an average price of 200,000 @1.41500. Why are you so concerned about each separate...

    Just how reliable is backtesting?

I am usually up 18 hours a day as I trade in the Americas, Asia, and Europe. I certainly do spend more time back testing then I do trading. I do not like to trade blind so if I do not have time to backtest and trade and I do not trade. I do not do much trading in the in-between hours, so I...

    Series 57 vs Series 56

I wrapped my assets in a corporation for certain tax reasons. Concerning the meeting, he said if I could show him proof of concept, he would put me in charge of a fund, which does sound nice but quite stressful. The company is essentially a proof of concept vehicle to show a track record as you...

    Series 57 vs Series 56

I understand what you are saying. I thought that you needed to have certain licenses to handle other people's money. I currently trade for myself, but people have asked me if I could manage their money. I told them that I did not think that I could. I had a meeting with someone who runs a...

    Just how reliable is backtesting?

I do not think you are supposed to include training data from your backtesting when you forward test.

    Series 57 vs Series 56

I have a similar question about licensure. Are there any requirements besides money to become a FINRA member firm? According to FINRA there is a $7,500-55,000 fee depending upon the size of your company. You need a FINRA member firm to sponsor you in order to take certain exams. If I want to...

SPX Index - different candles on Interactive Brokers

I would not be surprised by this. Do you subscribe to the required real time market data? Comparing IB and Yahoo, is like complaining that your Honda does not drive like a Porsche. Real time market data is not free. Since when does Yahoo provide real time market data and for free for that matter?

The joke must still be on you. Do you have proof that the data is not accurate? You who does not have real time data, knows this how? Who is your broker? How on Earth are you trading US options without market data? There is not just one price for most financial instruments. There is a thing...

    Interactive Brokers - FX Trading

You can view the P&L of each trade separately in the statements provided by IB. Log in to the account management page. I do not know why that is necessary. When you open another position, it changes your average price and accounts for all open positions.

It is easy to say that someone is clueless. Why don't you elaborate as to how. Try explaining and substantiating what you are saying. What a concept! Putting something in a bigger font does not make it any better or any truer.

The only thing that's ridiculous is a supposedly seasoned trader who doesn't know he's not using real time market data.

So, I would surmise that you do not daytrade options or equities. 15 minutes can result in decent jumps. These jumps are more pronounced in options. If you are trading an AAPL option with a premium of $2.00 and a delta of 1.00, then if AAPL goes up $1.00/share in minutes, which is highly...
