Need historical data for analysis / system testing

I was reading through this and have a question for you too: Is there another provider (besides Yahoo) that offers daily ADJUSTED (SPLITS, DIVIDENDS) data for the last 5 years? I do need it for some NYSE listed equities. Anybody an idea? Thanks

    YM Journal

That's happening quite often. I remember how the Dow, SPX, NQ start surging as soon as it hits 2PM ET or 8PM GMT+1 and how DAX-quotations begin to fluctuate crazy around..

    throwing in the fkin towel!!!

"the temptation to quit will be greatest just before you succeed" is an ancient Chinese aphorism. Just give yourself some time off and try to analyze your trading over and over again. Best, Hamrawein

    New to options, quick question..

Let's assume the following: Long stock at 50 - Short call premium 5 - 50 basis (just time value) BEP is 45. If I decide to close my position at a stock price of 48 (before expiry) why wouldn't I make profit? Is it just b/c I have to buy the call back and won't be able to cash in...

    Why do Indexes lose volatility?

Apologies that my post wasn't complete. I'm basically looking for the historical volatility based on historical data. Something like: Let the continous compounded return be: u = ln ( S(i) / S(i-1) ) where S is the stock price and i is the interval. I'm looking for the following...

    Why do Indexes lose volatility?

Where do you guys get the actual volatility for "futures" from? I would like to have the actual numbers for the YM, ES etc. VIX is the S&P 500 30 day volatility and therefore not really useful for me. Thanks Max

    why does everyone knock CNBC?

It's entertainment but not useful for trading ! If you guys trade professional it's worthless. I already know that the Dow topped today. They should mention where the Nasdaq, S&P 500 etc. is. Yeah intraday market comments on COMPX. :D :D :D

    Any negative beta equities?

Does anyone know, if there is a website, which can calculate the beta ratio for various stocks (indices) over different timeframes etc. for free? I took once the historical quotes from www.yahoo.com and implemented them in a spreadsheet (Excel) and calculated the beta by hand, but this is...

    Trading Multiple time frames

Krausz annotated in his "W.D. Gann Treasure Discovered": 1. Every time frame has its own structure. 2. The higher time frames overrule the lower time frames. 3. Prices in the lower time frame structure tend to respect the energy points of the higher time frame structure. 4. The...
