sane is common sense in the human society. As operators of companies, they ought to be sane in my opinion. But apparently this year is very different. What do you think?

A friend of mine who thinks himself an investor asked me about recent market news. He is apparently confused and made angry. Two examples he gave to me are 1. TXN missed earnings a couple of weeks ago but came out to upbid earning estimate yesterday; 2. HPQ beated earnings and gave good outlook...
please comment and help.
My questions are
1. is it okay after closing all positions and skiping January next year?
2. can I claim trader status for part of the year?
3. Is there a possibility that Uncle Sam prohits me to claim all short term loss agaist gain even they are traded in pairs...
Stock options is the most self-destructive market place I have ever seen, many unfair and illogical rules like the PDT rule. There is also no liquidity before or after the regular session even the underlying are traded actively. Why would you work under the PDT rule in these cases?
Anyway...
Me! Myself is one of my toughest enemies. I cannot beat myself because I never quit. Quiting should be inevitablely my ultimate solution.

Oh, let me tell you. It was just simple. Luckily I happened to be on the right side when the market start to trend. And I was even more lucky today that my stop was not hit at the retracements. That's all. 50%+delta% Overall, I was lucky. Same to you soon one day.

It doesn't matter. We do not need to analyze, time, or speculate (whatever you call it) long term trends of markets. To me, there is no bull market or bear market. I am a traders - QDZ.

Thanks for reminding 'em this. They are good at these matters. Be prepared for that may be the next change to take place. But do not worry if you are talkin about firms. Worry if you are doing this as a small individual investor.
