    Superstition, Luck and Vodoo

I think most traders and investors are superstitious. They realize that they have no idea what they are doing. In a desperate attempt to improve their odds they feel they must embrace the dark recesses of their minds and give weight, perhaps gratuitous weight, to theories they can't comprehend...

What happens when you reveal your true identity?

On a few occasions I have uttered "well, I don't really DO anything..." the usual reply is "you MUST do SOMETHING?!?" my reply "Nope, nothing"

    Indigo

Junk. Maybe it was of more value in the early days of trading when everyone traded EOD, but no longer. Think Tradestation or Wealth-Lab.

Getting back to 25K in account

I agree with easyrider about the futures markets. I just wanted to say though, that I think there is a rather steep learning curve with the index futures at first. Be prepared mentally to lose a bit more of your money before you figure out the game.

    Highly selective trading

I know more than a few people on this forum dislike system trading, or even the idea of it, perhaps for good reason. As I see it however, system trading with a decent system is the epitome of "selective trading". I can't claim to have come back from the grave after dying the death of a thousand...

    Hedge against the IRS?

I agree it pays to be some kind of guru these days. The hard part is conning people out of their money.

estimated tax - is it worth it?

trdrmac, I thought that the annualization thing was only for farmers? Are you sure traders can use it?

    You call this work?

I agree AAA. I think of trading as a glorified form of thievery. However, I am not losing any sleep at night... :)

    Spread??

maybe part of the confusion is that your original question refered to the spread of the ND whereas people responded about the mini. From what I understand the big contract does often have a wider spread and is less liquid. Someone just a few days ago posted about slippage with the big contract...

    CME E-quotes, or something comparable?

They must be having problems with their whole PBX system or something, I wouldn't take it personally. When I have called CME in the past they have been very helpful. I wanted them to send me a booklet that they offered, some brochures, etc. Got them a few days later in the mail. I also asked...

    Another Waxie Classic

I think it is totally legal to pump and dump as long as you cover your arse with disclaimers, etc. Case in point: www.otceagle.com I bet Waxie had at least one, maybe more, really good lawyers go over that email before he spammed it. I am sure he can afford it.

Is this "THE HOLY GRAIL"' for trading the E-MINI'S

Let me guess, you think you have found the "holy grail" but for a few thousand you'de be willing to "share" your discovery with others right? Out of deep concern for the well-being of others, you might even consider knocking off a few hundred, just to be nice? Of course, though, you can't share...

Is this "THE HOLY GRAIL"' for trading the E-MINI'S

agreed, I have yet to see a system based on a technical indicator that works well for any significant period of time. If it works in the short term it is purely chance, imo.

Is this "THE HOLY GRAIL"' for trading the E-MINI'S

I agree Sabena... there is no holy grail. I do know there are systems that work well though, even if they aren't "holy grails". I think it was on the omega list that I saw one poster saying "it amazes me how good a system has to be for most traders to be willing to use it". I totally agree with...

Is this "THE HOLY GRAIL"' for trading the E-MINI'S

Show us an equity curve of 200 or more days of backtesting with commisions and slippage. If it has a ROI of greater than 200 % and negligible drawdown, and an overall monotonic pattern THEN I will be impressed.
