    Target missed by one tick

Visaria, I typically have the very same issue as you when I have hard set targets. I usually block out a "window" of price around my target, and any movement into that window I start to scale out. Another thing that has really helped my bottom line is to be selling (taking profit) as...

    ES Journal - 2014

Above 76.25's and I'll be looking for 80.25's / 80.50's. After that it would be 86.75's give or take. I wouldn't be looking for a short unless we swing below 73.75's or so.

    ES Journal - 2014

My read is a bit sloppy this morning on the 512, but 58.75 seems like a magnet to me. Breaking above it would be a great launchpad to 63's. I can't make a case for any short unless we are below 50.25's.

Haha, not likely! Maybe if we plow through all of yesterday's range and trade back into Tuesdays prices.

Yeah, with a second test above the open print, there should be at least an attempt at a HH to see if there are more buyers up there. 54's for starters?

    A Career Transition into Trading

Try the TopStepTrader combine, that's the safest way to put a very small amount of money on the line and figure out if you have a chance. Or just walk away now and spare yourself the years of anguish you are about to sign up for!

Anything above 49's, give or take a few ticks, and it should stay long. That being said, it feels like a mean reversion day, probably to 46's.

The ES still just looks like a big wide range to me. If we hang out and trade above 30's (or 33.50's even more) then I'll see about a long, but I still think it has huge selloff potential.

I find that on "inside" days, the previous day high will serve as resistance and the previous day low will serve as support. Today was very successful example of that, although of course very often it's not nearly as clean as today was.

    Is day trading worth it?

I wholeheartedly agree here as well. Working with a partner in a physical room (and not just on a chat or a Skype call), was another one of the large improvements in my performance over the past year. I definitely recommend leaving your house and treating it like a job, it helped me immensely!

    ES Journal - 2014

What's up everyone, here are today's fills. Unless we somehow pull a miraculous rally and I get stopped out on the last piece of what I have left, today should be my most profitable day as a trader to date. I had a couple of good shorts early, and then proceeded to get SLAUGHTERED as I tried...

    Is day trading worth it?

Here's mine from today! Still holding some until the close... Butt kicked hard while the triangle formed in the morning, but I got my act together eventually :)

Sorry for the lag on the response, I went to an early lunch. For now, I don't think I could consider buying a pullback until we got to 67's? Honestly though I'm not even really sure about that. It's possible that 57's will hold, but I'm looking more towards 54's and 49's by the End of the...

Being above yesterday's high, I'm trading for the moon today....1898's maybe? If we fall back into yesterday's range and hold there, then I'm trading for a retest of yesterday's lows, and probably more.

GM all. I'll be looking long as long as we are holding above 75 evens / 75.25. Hanging out below that and I'm looking for a sell down to 67.50's. Have a good day!

We're WAY off topic by discussing channels and ranges now, aren't we?

    Is day trading worth it?

This thread is getting absolutely insane. There are actually people in here claiming that drawing lines on a chart in hindsight is basically the same as doing it in real time. I need some of the kool aid being guzzled in this thread, cause it sure makes trading seem like a piece of cake!!!
