anyone here making 7 figures a year doing this?

I know guys who have made $2000/week trading bonds with sub $100k accounts for the last 20 years. They just can't make the leap to the next level.

What does Ed Seykota mean by "everyone gets what they want from market"?

It's analogous to a guy who says he wants to go out with a beautiful girl but who has never actually asked one out. Saying you want something and doing something about it are very different things.

Pyramiding: Playing with the market’s money

I can only surmise that there are very few scalpers on this board. I once cut my size by a factor of thirty for a week after a bad loss. Conversely, I'll size up when things are going well and I'm in the zone. If you are always trading the same size without taking into account your performance...

Is it too late to become a daytrader at 30?

Trading will give you the opportunity to learn how the stock market works?? Would you recommend someone take up bridge building so they can learn Newtonian physics?

Will short-selling index futures will be banned in a financial panic?

If initiating shorts were banned then the only possible sellers are people who are already long. But, potential buyers include longs and shorts. How did you decide on your trading strategy or method of trading?

As a fellow rates guy I will give you a slightly different take. I'm a natural spreader. I look at what is cheap and expensive right now. If you have longer term views (I have them, but do all I can to suppress them haha) then you should probably trade outright.

Warning signs before MF Global went under

There were warnings but if you withdrew money in the last 1 or 2 weeks, that money was confiscated by the trustee. I tried to take delivery of gold contracts but the trustee wouldn't let the gold be delivered. In the end customers were made whole but it was a scary journey. I use 3 clearers now.

    beating the banks

It doesn't matter. A small trader can front large orders profitably even if those orders aren't profitable for the principal involved. It all depends on the time frame.

    beating the banks

Your job is not to identify the "who", focus instead on where the aggressive buyers and sellers are concentrated.

    beating the banks

Banks make money from order flow. They rarely have a strong view.
