agree liquidity on news is the real issue (for me). i haven't really looked at CME futures yet, and how they move on news, but on the spot, i am told usually cable comes in 5-10mio chunks, eur in 20-30, and once an order has been filled, the liq. providers immediately submit a replacement...

anybody trading via http://propfx.com (part of FXCM)? they seem to invite scalpers etc? or is this just a way for fxcm to easily identify scalpers and put them on manual exec?

the straddle technique is easy enough to get around for any broker. just open the spreads 10-20 pips - whatever is necessary - for a few seconds to trigger all those orders and their stops as well, pocket once or twice the wider spreads, and clear the order book seconds before the announcement...

acm is not giving me a hard time at all, what i do doesn't (seem to) pose them a problem, not sure against who they clear these days (ubs etc) but basically they collect their 2-3 pips spread and everybody's happy. their max on a single standard acct one-click is 10mio on gbp, i think 20 on...

am using fairly high leverage, 1% (100 times) most of the time. trading essentially on eco announcements, in & out in 1-15 minutes usually (plus some trailing stop type orders on much smaller size). with refco fx pro / currenex, on demo it seems i cld tap into much higher liquidity on ESP...
