    penny stocks

OK Then, My Bad. :D This brings me back to my original answer, or opinion. Lack of liquidity. You might find it easy to purchase a position in a penny stock but very hard to sell, at least hard to sell at your price. Huge spreads. See above paragraph. Lack of institutional following...

    penny stocks

Do I sense an attitude? You asked why I/we don't trade penny stocks and as of now nobody has bothered to answer you say for me. Sorry if you don't like my answer but I think I got my opinion of penny stocks across. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for traders to explain the ignorance of...

    penny stocks

Lack of liquidity. Lack of institutional buying. Huge spreads. Money better spent on a lottery ticket. Watch the movie "Boiler Room", you'll get the idea.

    Classic Head & Shoulders Reversal

I was using John J. Murphy's rule of measuring the top of the head down to the neckline. Subtract that range from the point where the neckline is broken. Either way, it's going down.:)

    Classic Head & Shoulders Reversal

They could use the four year chart of FINL in a Technical Analysis textbook to describe a head and shoulders reversal. Complete with a retracement back to the neckline. Should be 7 to 8 points of downside left in it if you don't mind holding the position for a while. :)

CAT up pre-market/ misses the street

The one year daily chart is ugly but you gotta love the 5 year weekly. Sitting right at that 5 year uptrend line. I grabbed some calls earlier this week and I'll be watching the five year trendline.

    Russell 2000 Cup and Handle

I think your Fibinacci retracement is misplaced. It should go from the July Low to the December high. You have it going from the July low to the MAY high. It's backwards. EDIT: Just noticed I was looking at it upside down!

    throwing in the fkin towel!!!

You are 100% correct about Livermore being a manipulator. They called them "Pools" back then. The quote I posted was actually Livermore commenting on the fact that even though some men knew they were in on a "manipulation" scheme they ended up losing money for greed and then blamed very the...

    throwing in the fkin towel!!!

The word "manipulation" and "manipulator" is so abused on trading boards by obvious losers. Take responsibility. Trading isn't easy money......until you learn how to trade. Pay your dues or quit. Jesse Livermore said: "I can't have much sympathy for the man who blames others for his own...

    Amd Big Loss

AMD has been in a 10 year downtrend. However, it's still above it's support from the upper channel. If it falls below that there is support around $14 so I doubt it will see $10 any time soon.

    Stops

Has anyone here tried using standard deviation in placing their stops? In other words, rather than choosing a random number (like a dime) below support, has anyone tried placing stops at say, support - (1.5XSD) ? I have no means to backtest this and not having a lick of programing knowledge I...

    Even Simpler Profitable Method

Actually, it's common to use the opening 30 minute bar with that strategy. Since many believe the opening is meaningless and the market chooses it's direction after 10:00 am.
