OP here. Just to frame the question: Win10 + home router is to give the conversation some guidance. No interest in chromebook or Linux. I am looking for practical steps/software I could use to protect from hacking attempts.

And I agree with both of these guys as well. I think this is the way to do it. P.s. I personally value the 20ys experience in fixed income trading (selling bonds) much more that your initial day 1 capital. But you will be very irritable with just 1m and no other revenue streams....

I guess you are not far. A couple more important points to share: 1) most guys who do what I do well (early retirement, double digit return...) have a solid IB or buy side, accountancy or corporate law background. 2) there is the odd IT guy or statistician/academic but less common. 3) most guys...

Thank you but....the only difference betweenI and the rest is that I know my diagnostic already. How do you model for real life unexpected things ( medical, divorce, etc...?). I would be prudent if I were you. Life is not a spreadsheet.
