How Quick we forget. 24 years ago! But this time it's different.....

I was trading garbage stocks touted on chat boards in the dot com times. Made and gave back some decent money. I did feel that something was off back then, like there was a whole universe of meme stocks. Doesn't feel that way exactly right now.

They Thought Their Money Was in High-Interest Accounts—They Got Paid Peanuts

I don't see any reason to keep more than the bare minimum at a bank. Earning 0% on a savings account in this environment is really unacceptable.

Why is customer service so bad at most brokers?

Odd, I have nothing bad to say about customer service at either Schwab or Fidelity. Somebody knowledgeable is always there within no time. And if they do not know an answer they ask around and get back to me pretty fast. Maybe they keep an eye on trading volume and how much PFOF you're...

    Tips for ThinkorSwim?

You can still revert back to SSE if you request it. Can't trade with both TOS and SSE. The feature I like about TOS is the ability to copy multiple orders from an excel file and paste it into a 'Blast All' order.

How do HFT strategies combat slippage

As an example, let's say some signal gets triggered. I will enter the market order manually a few seconds before the start of the next minute. For example if a trigger happens at 10:17:34 I will manually enter a market order a few seconds before 10:18:00, perhaps at 10:17:55. Within that 5...

How do HFT strategies combat slippage

I measure slippage a bit differently. I ask myself how was my execution compared to some benchmark or bogey? When a signal gets triggered, I execute at the start of the next minute. Then at night I download historical intraday stock data and run a module that compares my aggregate execution...
