    Rebate trading.

i've been a rebate trader for the last few months. I'm trying to fnd out about new strategies on rebate trading. So far my basic strategy is mostly to get out as fast as I can everytime [never wait for gross profits unless there's no option] and never take more than 2cents on a single loss...

    info about SwiftTrade?

Ok, on the technical part. I do most of my trading looking for rebates, not actual points, so my average points per trade is usually 0, 1 at the most. I go into stocks that dont allow for much more than that, they move no more than 10 cents on an average day, but those are also stocks where you...

    info about SwiftTrade?

How to pass through the probation stage? Easy. Be patient. You gotta realize you wont be seeing any money for at least six months, and cover your expenses before hand. Baby steps. Once you figure that out, don't worry about making money, just learn to enjoy trading and try to go up...

Do you have any observations/strategies regarding tapereading, that could be usefull in futures?

    TAPE READING (chat room cont.)

Could a buyer reserving his real size through an ecn/market maker at the NASDAQ be considered the equivalent of a buyer trying to hide his hand through the specialist at NYSE?

    TAPE READING (chat room cont.)

Mav what should one look for in the tape when reading it on NASDAQ stocks, or on the CME futures? since there's no specialist... is all your analisis only appliable to NYSE, or does it apply to markets without specilists?

    Non-USA exchange's

Hy milstar, I don't think that volume is a problem at all at the LSE, as many stocks trade way into the 100M times per day. But rather volatility at an intraday level. Perhaps the problem derives from the fact that there aren't many day traders at the exchange, which in han ddisencouragues...

    Non-USA exchange's

I have to agree with you, when looking at the LSE as a swing market or long term investment, stocks do have an interesting volatility. they dont look so different from north american stocks on the 3 months chart, if you look at close prices, the only proble is that the damn thing probably opened...

    TAPE READING (chat room cont.)

I'm a rebate trader myself, and Im used to looking into such stocks, so Im usually reding the tape more for figuring out which ecn is getting more liquidity than for figuring out what buyers and sellers are doing... I havent been trading long, less than a year [therefore I expet my tape...

    Non-USA exchange's

I've watch LSE for a little while, it seems to me that is not very volatile. Also it's quite expensive to do retail. You need to trade in 10,000 + shares per block just to see a profit daytrading since the issues move so little, the most I've seen so far was about 30 cents a day range... and the...

    TAPE READING (chat room cont.)

None taken. I did look back throught the threat, and after thinking about it you guys are right... when you trade large blocks you shouldn't show your hand till you're done. sounds reasonable. How wouls you apply this to a stock like jdsu or sunw where the average size on any price level is...

Best place to position myself in this industry

Hey millydog, first of all, my respect on that everest climb. That's gotta be one of the best experiences in the whole world. Regarding your question, the one that initiated the threat. I think you should look for a prop firm where you can adquire real life market experience while risking...

    TAPE READING (chat room cont.)

My 0.02 You cant read the tape out of a single print, you need to compare how the bids and offers change at different price levels. As that would tell you how bulls/bears are reacting to the market at any move. Let's say stock abc opens at 34.01 you start seeing large offers 5000share...

Trade your way through College- NOT

I think the 95% number is ppl who try trading and fail. The remaining 5% make a lot of money. That's usually the ppl you should find at firms. Said otherwise, only 5% of the general poupullation has what it takes to become a profitable trader. About swift's experiment, I think that...

    losing streaks

    losing streaks

dont get me wrong, I love trading, It makes me feel more alive than any job I ever dreamed of having. Problem is I still got a lot to learn, so when the market changes, or when I changemy focus unconciously, I start losing money several days in a row and that gets to me. the worst losing...
