    Trader’s Expo ?

trade the markets is john carter (and hubert senters) trade the markets is NOT trading markets, which is larry connors' organization. carter did some stuff for connors maybe 7 years ago? i think hubert senters might have as well. carter had a course titled something like "how i trade the...

Take every setup ? Or quit when you're up

i don't have a number where i'll stop trading. however, i know that if i have a lot of really good trades, i'll get greedy on future trades and be more likely to have poor risk/reward. therefore, i WILL stop trading if i feel that i might start to mentally slip. there's no way for me...

Trading - like riding a bike?

os - wasn't looking for details, just general things. i do some intraday extreme reversion to mean, and the typical buy pullbacks on strength / sell pullbacks on weakness. but you basically answered much of my question with this: and that's exactly why i *wasn't* trading much of the NYSE...

Successful traders: what were the early days of starting out like?

my first days were august '99. i had traded while at a full time other job, then left on my own. was fading huge up moves, and you'd see wacky stuff - YHOO in S&P500 or something like that, and the intraday RSI was at near 100 most of the day...JDSU buys SDLI for a huge premium, and JDSU...

Trading - like riding a bike?

oldschool - when i take a week off from trading, it takes me a day or two to get back in the swing of things - unless i have a perfect setup or something like that. if you've been off for 10 years, it's normal to be out of synch with lots of things. even for stuff that *hasn't* changed...

are you in the suburbs and not a farm/rural area? if so, join a gym. lots o' people action, you can go for an hour during some of the days where midday action is slower. get out of the house and take a walk. i do other computer things when it's slow and i have to stay home, or do...

Article: "Day Traders: Dumber Than Ever"

don't know if i'd agree with the 'much more profitable' part, since i don't know what the high end marketers are making. but it's definitely easier to teach people the basics, rather than trading and learning more than the basics. part of trading is only easy in hindsight. learning how...

Article: "Day Traders: Dumber Than Ever"

i hope so. if there's more dumb day traders, there's a better chance of them being on the other side of my trade... but the author's article can really be dumbed down to two things: 1) academic types don't know how to do it, and i don't know how anyone can be doing it successfully, so it...
