The big problem with commissions is a result of the policy of CME. They charge IB $2 exchange fees per E-Mini trade whilst pit traders pay only $0.80 fees per "big" contract. I wonder how long this form of monopol is still being held.

Maybe anybody knows how much points the stop may be away before IB really routes it to cme interface ?? If we knew, one could use DDE to create a "trailing" sort of stop that is always at the exchange.

Brokers + Exchanges. I worked for a specialist firm and they generate not much. The traders in sum generate of course 0, single traders may benefit from others but I think potential here is limited.

The QQQ cash options are more fair and more liquid than any futures option accessible for retail traders.

I think trading large lots is problematic, since if you are taken out it is 95% an pit trader against you (locals) who is very likely to be better than most of us.

I had no problems with the realtime ib feed. BTW, in my opinion market depth of fast moving contracts will not help you in trading since the book is just far too erratic.

One difference of NQ trading versus QQQ is that if you had joined the bid or offer and get hit/taken out, it is very likely the the market will go against you in the next few secs. On QQQ you have more chances being hit by a retail guy on island (e.g.) than by a pit trader who may know the next...
