TriPack: agree 100% -
if you trade not for long yet it is even better to trade
100 QQQs in + out than to enforce a "whole" NQ contract.
The pressure a maximized position using ultra-low
intraday margin builds will probably more than you can bear...
stay rational
...Strange. I cannot remember any noticable IB login / connection
problems except those many of us were embarrassed about
(IB outages + Bulletin Disconnect Problem). REALLY.
Do you use a firewall software ?
Maybe you both check down your system configuration - it
could be the same problem...
IB is running absolutely stable last days - for me.
It is 80% an ISP problem.
If you still use a modem or something, try to get DSL
by all means. I use DSL for 12 months and i am enlightened
by the speed and the rock-solid reliability.
@PABST IMPORTANT
As what i have read in your first post,
i can safely claim that nobody had access to your C:
It is simple to create a HTML doc, which has the
effect, that if you open it in IE, your drive X: is shown,
however, ONLY LOCALLY, i.e. IE does on your computer
what your normal...
I cannot believe it -
in the latest beta release of tws (761),
the toolbar is fully customizable and it
CAN REALLY BE TURNED OFF.
Better late than never.
Same thing as 2 years ago. Higher unemployment -> market upside since less interest rate hike fears.
Markets reflect principles of evolution. They are highly unsocial,
not to say cruel.
The rule is a rudiment of former law in Germany, up to the
70s-80s futures / options on fut. were completely forbidden
by the authority, they were considered as gambling, therefore
any such arrangement by a private person was void.
If a sudden drop in the SP of say, 400 pts would happen...
The software is fast and very reliable (the applet).
As you cannot beat the price, i think it is unrealistic to
demand something far-improved from IB.
I am happy with it, except when the quotes are slow.
The software itself is ok for me.
Hello Guys,
here is an important question,
i could not find an answer to it anywhere, maybe someone
of you knows a bit more.
Are accounts held by non-US resident persons SIPC insured ?
Special case: IB multicurrency account.
Or, does IB's additional insurance cover the risk ?
And...
the future: about 1000 per day trade now.
sorry, i did not had a look onto the spread,
but with 1000 contr./day it won't be too good & too bad.
however, for trading within less < 4 hours horizon not suitable,
imo.
@jaan
locking the market is technically possible so far (AFAIK),
however, if you do it often, the SEC/NASD will "take care of you".
i think this is what happened to IB lately.
the brokers, ECNs and MMs are therefore required to implement
a sort of "locking/crossing prevention".
The MMs...
IB will reroute your order - they will at least look in an
<n seconds> interval when your order has become
at / within NBBO and eventually re-route the order
if e.g.: you are 24.95 bid at island, island has 24.97 offer,
however, INCA has 24.95 offer. If you fall into an update cycle,
you...
Hi,
the max. loss depends also on your country of residence and
the current applicable law.
eg. you are long 1 MiniSP at IB, have $2000 in margin,
the market gets interrupted and re-opens 3 days later
100 pts lower, so your account is $-3000, which IB could sue
you for.
as far as i...
Hello,
i just do not think it makes sense to invent the wheel several times...
sorry if i am too direct. it is just my opinion.
maybe you (app.-developers) check out www.smartquant.com
you will find that many other brillant coders have tried
what you want to do now - and they failed...
Hello Guys,
since i was the one who brought up this topic i want to
tell you what the development in my "closing case" was:
In February, after months of useless message ping-pong with
datek cust. service, MY ACCOUNT WAS FINALLY CLOSED - BELIEVE IT OR NOT. I used the personal messaging...
