Wizetrade Software - Any Users? Any Opinions?

Turok, I appreciate your comments and agree with your assessment regarding the data scrubbing and false sales numbers -- they do occur and can cause indicators to be out of bounds, especially short term. However, the false signals in WizeTrade are not caused by these occasional 'bad' ticks...

Wizetrade Software - Any Users? Any Opinions?

I tried it out for a month last April, and returned it. While the program is interesting, it appeared to be using moving averages based on price & volume information that you can get in almost any charting software. There isn't anything magical about WizeTrade. It's very expensive, and...

    S&P E mini fills

The ES and full S&P 500 actually move in tandem. The difference is the contract amount. The ES is one-fifth (1/5) that value of the full S&P contract. Meaning, you can buy 1 ES contract for less than 1 full S&P contract.

    S&P E mini fills

Fills with Globex (through IB) are very fast, 1 to 2 seconds. Long and short times are the same. Stops are very quick. If the market is moving fast, the fill time can increase for a market order to 5-10 seconds, although limits will execute fine if it hits your price. Stops in a fast market can...

Daytrade for how many points ??

I can see pros and cons both ways (trailing stops vs. fixed target). If the market is trending strongly, trailing stops are very profitable and fixed targets while profitable, you miss the big moves. If the market is choppy or whippy, then trailing stops will usually trigger with a loss or...

Daytrade for how many points ??

I started daytrading the S&P e-mini Oct 1 of this year. I use technical indicators to determine my entry, and after entering a trade, immediately enter a 2 point stop loss order, and a 2 point limit order. In IB, I enter these as OCA orders (One Cancels All). Then I just watch what happens. I'm...

IB lagging and stuck quotes for ES

I haven't experienced the problems that tymjr has. While IB has had delay problems on the quotes both yesterday and today, the executions have still been perfect. As I mentioned, I use RealTick for the charting and timing of my trades on ES. I place both limit and stop orders and they executed...

IB lagging and stuck quotes for ES

ES on IB lagged several times today. I use RealTick for charts which is very dependable, so I can tell when IB is incorrect.

    When you Hot, your Hot...

qwiktrade makes some good points. I'd like to reinforce the idea of taking it one disciplined day at a time. I have been more consistent by taking this attitude, and not letting a good day go to my head. It is a key factor in being successful.

    Should I make the switch?

tradervic, My circumstance is very similar to yours. I currently hold an IT job in the six figures, and have wrestled with going full-time to trading or not. I've decided for now to keep the job, as there is no way I can realistically make that much money trading yet. I trade the S&P...

WHY cant I stay logged in?

Do you mean logon to Windows? If that's the case, it's because you have your network settings configured to logon. Right click on My Network, click Properties, and select Client For Microsoft Networks. I think there is a setting in there to turn off the login. (I did this from memory, so the...

    Trailing IB Globex stops

For what it's worth, I just managed a trade yesterday with the S&P e-mini doing exactly what you have tried, and it worked fine. As the price moved, I directly edited the stop price in the grid (without pulling up the Order dialog), changed the price, then hit the transmit button. As I...

New E-Mini traders (under 25K traders) trading journal

I traded the S&P e-mini for the first time today, and was profitable. As mentioned, it was an easier day than many lately, so I won't let it go to my head.

    Mechanical or Intuitive

I prefer a more mechanical approach, because when I trade without that guidance, the emotional aspect overwhelms my decisions and I consistently have poor performance.

IB: Direct Access or Not? See this text....

In my experience with IB, it is direct access. You can specifically choose which ECN or other route to send the order to.

    Traders International?

Anybody heard of or dealt with Traders International? http://www.tradersinternational.net I can't find any information anywhere on the web about these guys. They are probably another one of these expensive products/classes that aren't worth it, but I'm just curious.

    Wizetrade

I tried it for a month back in March. It wasn't any better than doing my own analysis. Their graphs look like simple moving averages of price/volume with some tick data thrown in. I had to work pretty hard to get my money back, but after about 7 weeks I did get reimbursed.

Help with strategies for day trading

I try to keep things simple, and also try to be very patient. I have a basket of 6 nas stocks. I look for consolidation during the day. When the price looks like it may be close to the top or bottom of the consolidation range, I check the nasdaq TRIN, TICK and Futures. If at the top of the...
