My connection via DSL is usually pretty solid for TWS and Ensign with only a disconnection once every month or two. I did trade while on vacation via a cable modem and was constantly getting disconnected and had very sluggish performance compared to my DSL.

Are you talking about Messenger popups or popup type ads that you get from going to specific websites? The reason why I ask is I use NAT w/ a DSL router and get popups from websites all the time.

I don't believe for a second that large institutions don't have failsafes. They invest HUGE amounts of money into IT and software development. Even Realtick has a feature that you can set that pops up a window for a confirmation if your order goes over a user defined threshold.
