On small cap stocks with low volume, AMTD seems to offer better bid ask spreads than IB. It might only be 100 shares on the bid but the spread is definitely better. I wonder if this is because the payment for order flow buyers aren't afraid to buy shares from AMTD traders ie don't have to worry...

IB is not a bucket shop, but the bucket shops are getting killed. FXCM is at less than $2, down from $16. Is that because the bucket shop brokers were short CHF and the customers were long? That makes it sound as if the customers made out huge.
